I am a fan of Sawyer .......... and think he has had a difficult time of it this season ....... and odd injuries don't help - but then he is in the same boat as Kalala and Grant - both have struggled to maintain a place in the team - and therefore, they have to sit on the bench and wait for their turn.

As anyone who has played knows, being a sub (when you think you should be on the pitch) is mentally very hard to cope with ........ and I think from watching all three (Sawyer, Kalala and Grant) on the bench, they struggle with this. That is a good thing is some ways as they all have an appetite to play but it contrasts starkly with Jesus's attitude when he is named as a sub.

Never been a fan of this "squad" business that is part of the game now ........... as I believe that teams in the lower leagues get promoted by having a settled team (with minimal loan players), playing to set systems, the odd bit of flair and a canny manager - and we have all of this. And that may mean that Sawyer will get fewer games than he would like unless he gets a chance on the pitch and grabs it with both hands.

But there is a long, long way to go ..........

This!

Throughout football, there will be plenty of people in Sawyer's position who simply have to bide their time. As you say, it's a long season and he may well have a significant part to play yet. At the moment, it's all working rather well.

Original thread title was just Lee Sawyer i think someone changed it to attacking threat for there own sense of humour me thinks:unsure:

Indeed the thread title was changed (not by me i should add) to be a bit more descriptive

I changed the thread title as it was the main idea behind the original post. If we didn't change the titles on occasion, we'd have hundreds of generic, almost identical thread titles. It wasn't intended to be funny, we were just starting to go off topic!

Precisly this Graeme,

I believe one of the contributors to this thread suggested that i'd changed the title in order to make a cheap joke .. just think of the fun we could have if we were to change every thread title to service our own little imaginations :zzzzz:
