Sam set to sign

Nice to see you're all happy about signing a less fast, less strong, less skilful, less talented JCR. Good for you guys. :) ;)

A pacey midget winger, with good control, who came through the youth ranks at Charlton and had a loan spell at Orient - sound familiar yet?

I don't know whether his work-rate matches JCR, but otherwise I think he's a very similar player up to and including his lack of end product. I imagine Tilly plans to use him as a sub once JCR has run himself into the ground. I like the idea of having some pace on the bench to run against tiring legs - its certainly something we've been short of this season.

Yeah, I'm guessing you've probably hit the nail on the head of what he'll be used for there. Presuambly for the last few games JCR/Sam & Gower/Foran will be interchangeable when/where we need to on either flank. Not a bad strategy to have, especially now we're coming out of the season of sodden winter pitches!

Of course we were!
... not!

Actually, when the Echo broke the story he hadn't signed. he had when we did. Plus I always thought the Echo was a newspaper?

And the possibility of playing Sam and Foran up front if and when needed too. Plenty of attacking options here which is great news at this stage of the season.

On what basis do you make that assessment?

we have maher and macca backing up our attack, whilst both have chipped in with crucial goals... francis and hammell both seem to have hit form and fitness. All our CB's have scored this season. Up front we have any of Freddy, Bradbury, Foran, Harrold and Lloyd Sam... whilst on the wing we have any of JCR, Gower, Foran and Sam... looking good! definite competition for places now and some fresh legs in Lloyd Sam coming into the mix when tiredness may be a factor

According to the soccerbase stats , he was on the winning side once in eleven outings for Sheff Wed and Charlton .

Hope he leaves that kind of sequence behind

Given that we've been playing quite well in recent weeks and this weeks fixtures are SO important is this the right time to introduce someone new into the team ? Presumably Charlton didn't let us have him just to plonk him on the bench, so is playing with someone unfamiliar going to unbalance the team ?

+ Hooper..

Don't need to ask anyone else about him 'cos

Lloyd Sam knew my Father ..,

My Father knew Lloyd Sam...........................

+ Hooper..

don't think we will see him now for the rest of the season. Seems out of favour with Tilly and many have mentioned some uninterested performances in the stiffs. It's a shame really because on his day he is a useful player

No may be not,but he is another option...All in All sounds very promising this squad......Far to large of course..Maybe we should loan out a few ;)

i would just like to see a few other players get a chance up front. we always take off bradders for harrold. why not give foran a go or even the new guy!

Could this be the end of Prince Harry as a squad player? Damn just as he was about to reach his thirty goals a season ratio!:hilarious:

Of course I'd never question your judgement but I do believe that Wayne Gray was never going to amount to much either a couple of years before scoring the goal that won us the League One title.

In seriousness, he has probably improved since he was with you both physically and in maturity.

I don't think any stats are going to tell us anything about him. However, if he can add variety to our attack and has a good team ethic then I'm sure he will have some positive input to our team.
