What a pleasant surprise to read whilst having a ****!

Glad to see some are slagging him off already.

Seems like my people were telling me porky pies. Explains the random text I got whilst having a beer at 10 this morning in the Spanish sunshine.

Fantastic signing....a player who I always hoped we could one day sign when he toyed with us at Meadow Lane when Notts trounced us 4-0. He's such an intelligent footballer. Always on the move and takes up threatening positions between the lines.
The likes of Josh Walker could finally be about to shine with a player like Austin in our side, sliding in clever balls between opposition centre halves.

Im now excited to see who else we may have lined up.

Happy with this, very astute signing. National League winner and 40+ League 2 games last season. Can play multiple positions also, handy if the squad stays on the small side.
 
IMHO an excellent signing for us! Can play a number of roles but stood out as an attacking midfielder in the County promotion side. Check out some of their highlights on YouTube and you will see he attacks the box, has a shot on him and passes well. He's an 8/10 consistent performer and the type of player promotion winning sides have in them and other teams in this League will see this as a strong signing.
Well done Blues for getting this one over the line, not bad for a Club supposedly doing nothing on the recruitment front!

What an absolutely superb signing that is. Not sure what I'm more impressed with - the player himself, or the fact that any leaks were clearly plugged!

I can see some folks are being negative already because of "stats", but let's be honest:

  • Signed from the level above (how many people on here have been desperate for a signing from a level above?)
  • In his prime
  • A free transfer
  • Played a pivotal role in the promotion of probably one of the top two teams to ever grace this division
  • A proven winner with experience of getting up out of this division
  • Spent a lot of time at Notts playing a similar style of football to us, albeit more successfully, so should fit in well in that respect

I honestly don't know what there is to dislike.

Here's hoping he stomps a mudhole in the opposition and walks it dry.
