This is what a football thread is about - two sets of fans enjoying the day. Well done to all those attended, you have done your respective clubs and football proud today.

It was very funny cheering southamptons third and forth goals! Nothing was going to stop our relegation party! Excellent atmosphere and got loads of good wishes/hand shakes from the southampton fans outside after the game. Good luck southampton in the play offs

You guys are a credit to your club and football. The atmospher today was awesome and your fans played a huge part in it. Both sets of fans respected each other and huge thanks for joining in the Alan Ball tribute, the hairs on my arms stood on end as the whole stadium chanted his name and clapped towards the end of the 2nd half. I really hope you bounce back into the Championship as its going to be dull not to have fans like you in it. Lastly a big pat on the backs of Sponge Bob, Patrick and Barney.....they must of been sweating buckets. Well done.

They scored a third and fourth? I didn't notice was far too busy going crazy with a conga, on a down note, car broke down and its taken me 7 and a half hours to get home!

I remember well the Swansea fans last season coming over to us and wishing us well after promotion.In a way it made my day so I made a point of wishing the Saints fans all the best. At the end of the day today was just a send off for us n the points meant nothing. The bouncers in Yates were being ****s saying coz i was in away colours i might cause issues. Luckily my mate had a jumper n once in i got chatting to a few saints and they all said we were a credit to the club today with which i fully agree. well done everyone. we lost 4-1 and i swear i had as good a day as swansea. how ****ing random

Southampton support was very loud, probably better than Sunderland. To be fair I have seen you play a few times & your support has always been pretty good even at The Dell.

It makes me proud to be a football fan. The atmosphere amd camaraderie at the game was awesome. This is how football should be played. And although it may take us 2 or 3 years I am convinced we will be back in the CCC with Tilly and Brush, better prepared and able to compete and survive in it. Onwards and upwards!

I'm a Saints fan and I would like to pay tribute to Southend F.C. and their magnificent fans. Your team came to win and for a time had us worried. The Southend fans sold out the away end and supported the team throughout even when the match was lost. At the end you cheered both sides and I have never witnessed such a sporting display. You are a credit to football and I sincerely wish you well next year. I will watch your results closely and I hope that you make a swift return to the CHampionship. Thanks for making Sunday such an enjoyable day.

ANYWAY I DON'T CARE TBH.

You lot are my second team and i hope you get promoted 'coz you deserve a better team. I will look out for your results and maybe even go to the games against Bournemouth (of course unless Saints are playing.) I will be supporting Southend aswell. Because we loan Bournemouth players all the time and have pre-season friendlies with them when they are strapped for cash and we allow them all the gate reciepts. Their fans still hate us though :confused:
