I think as Leonard didn't come through our youth system, people forgot how young he is. I think he is only 20/21 now so will only continue to get better over the next couple of years.

Lenny and Bentley are the best assets the club have at the moment. Great investments. I'm sure both will bring big money to the club sometime in the not-too-distant future.

Long throws can be effective. It's a shame Leonard doesn't actually have a long throw. Either that or our players just stand in the wrong positions.

What is the transfer market like for young goalkeepers? ie what young keepers have been on the move recently and for how much?

Similarly, I'm not sure how much transfer value there is in someone playing in Leonard's position. I think if we want to maximise his transfer value we need to play him further forward so he scores more goals.

If you have combine a long throw with an intelligent, tall striker who can win the near post flick on, it is a very effective tactic.

It is not just the long throw itself. If you find yourself under pressure in a game with the opposition enjoying territorial advantage, the ability to send a throw in into the danger area means it is relentless pressure on the defence to keep getting the ball away, especially if you're having a few corners during that spell too. After a while, someone is going to make a mistake.

Personally I always worry when I see the opposition has a long-throw expert, whether I'm defending on a Sunday morning or watching a game at Roots Hall.

The decoy thing is also good, so it pays to mix it up. I get nowhere near as angry seeing a short throw-in as I do with a short corner, which if I was manager would result in a one-week fine for the offending player.

Whilst I think a corner delivered with pace is much more dangerous than a long throw , it does also allow the defenders to use that pace in order to get more distance on their ( headed ) clearances.
The long throw is generally 'looping' and the defender then has to generate his own pace on the ball which is not easy.
Having said that , it gives the keeper more time to come and collect , which invariably they do or probably more regularly win a free kick for being impeded.
Stoke are the only team I've seen have some success with this , but even they gave away countless free kicks.
