Running Thread 2024

I’ve just signed up for The Lap next year, a 47mile 2500m elevation ultra around Lake Windermere ! …longest race so far is B15…what was I thinking ! 😂
Good luck. Just to be a pedant, there's no such place as Lake Windermere. It's just called Windermere.

Anyone running Dunton TT10 miler on Sat, I’ll be there liked it last year though many thought it was boring for some reason
Also undecided re Southend half in June waiting to see if trains are running for a change on a Sunday from Basildon 😂

Anyone else running the Southend Half on Sunday?

Hope it's not as hot as last year, that was by far the hottest race I've done.

Always a good event though, and this year it's a sell out.

Good to see an earlier start time, especially after last couple of years of intense heat
Not doing this year, cross country for me
Good luck to all running

I've earmarked Monday as my first run/jog of the year. So far this year I've had 3 shoulder operations and a broken foot!

It'll be short and slow, but I'll be back!

Jeez LB, mind those uneven pathways and lifting pavement slabs !!!
I’m nursing a calf injury , but running my favourite race tomorrow Horndon 10k, fantastic race and great after race fete for all ages
Hope on the mend soon LB

Ran Horndon 10 k yesterday my favourite race of the year
Didn’t think I was going to run as calf injury hampered last week, but glad I did , if get a chance to run it you won’t be disappointed, great family day with fete and entertainment till 5pm roads are closed so kids can run about

Not quite, I have a tight calf. But that's almost certainly just because I don't have the miles in my legs at the moment.

That said, I take your point.

How’s the return to running going?

Has anyone booked in for the Southend 10km?

Got into Southwold 10 k in November, thank you Supernaut for tip off, hope you got in as well.
Looking forward to it
Well done! I decided to swerve it this year - I'm still coming back from a recurring achilles injury, plus we're planning to go up for the Xmas lights switch on which is the weekend after, so I'll probably take my kit and run the course at my own pace.

OK. I've been on holiday so haven't run for a few weeks. I've got a bit of a cold (very minor) at the moment so I'm not going to run this week. I'll start again next week.

Anyone take part in the Southend 10km yesterday?

First time doing the 10km, and I loved that. 43:04 for me yesterday, a lot better than I was expecting.

Well done Mike, gutted missed both your run Saturday and Southend 10 k, calf nearly there hoping to light jog this weekend
Well done on time 👏👏👏, next hopefully runs for me Leigh on sea night race( think it will be 5 k for me) then Billericay 10 k and Southwold in November
