Rumours

Quote[/b] ]Ironically, one of the worst performances I have seen from Gower was against QPR last season, when he was generally woeful - yet still set up all four goals. That illustrates my point.

Strange how people see games differently, but I thought that that was possibly his best performance in a Southend United shirt.

Quote[/b] (fbm @ Mar. 30 2005,19:33)]Then again, if we can get money for him... could be good business.
I don't want to really see Gower go (he's been getting a lot of unfair bad press on here over the past couple of weeks for some reason & I thought he played fairly well v Rochdale & again OK before he tired in the heat @ Cambridge) but as FBM says this could be a particularly sharp bit of business.  Around £75k in + picking up say Devaney from Cheltenham will more than compensate for L1 (hopefully) next season.
Sod Martin Devaney, if we go up and Northampton don't we should grab Josh Low instead as I'm reliably informed from one of my Cobblers-supporting mates that he's out of contract in the summer. Can't see it happening of course but still...

I want Gower to stay as well of course and I'm convinced he will - until he sorts out his fitness (hopefully once and for all in the summer), I doubt any club would be willing to pay a fee for him, particularly one playing in the Championship next season.
