There's one in Canada....[b said:Quote[/b] (Blue Streak @ Jan. 03 2007,18:25)]Are you sure its us ? There is a team in Ireland called Southend United isnt there ? Quite a successful one if my memory serves me correct.
just like Peter Clarke was at Blackpool........[b said:Quote[/b] (southendutd1 @ Jan. 03 2007,17:58)]he did say that his an important part of their plans so could be bad
And New Zealand[b said:Quote[/b] (Maldon Blues @ Jan. 04 2007,09:27)]There's one in Canada....[b said:Quote[/b] (Blue Streak @ Jan. 03 2007,18:25)]Are you sure its us ? There is a team in Ireland called Southend United isnt there ? Quite a successful one if my memory serves me correct.
why would we be resigned to it?[b said:Quote[/b] (fredheim_holm @ Jan. 03 2007,19:05)]Sounds like a fair deal 250-300k If they want more than that then they are being unrealistic. Maybe they just dont want to sell him though? Surely they are resigned to it?
Yeah no doubt that stung and is still stinging. Doyle had a release clause in his contract though. Roy has none.[b said:Quote[/b] (tommytwoholes @ Jan. 04 2007,09:41)]Didnt they sell Doyle to reading for just 90k. Seems they have learnt a lesson.
In all honesty, He's no real experience playing at Championship level and its pretty safe to say the standard is considerably higher over here.[b said:Quote[/b] (Pablo @ Jan. 04 2007,10:01)]Yeah no doubt that stung and is still stinging. What would you expects to pay for an Under 21 and B international?
By the looks of it Southend are not exactly "championship" standard either......[b said:Quote[/b] (EastStandBlue @ Jan. 04 2007,10:04)]In all honesty, He's no real experience playing at Championship level and its pretty safe to say the standard is considerably higher over here.[b said:Quote[/b] (Pablo @ Jan. 04 2007,10:01)]Yeah no doubt that stung and is still stinging. For a highly rated player who represents at a 'B' international level i'd be disapointed if we went above £500k considering hes untested.
Woah, hold on there... It wasn't a negative tone or a slur against your club at all. Its simply stating a fact that the standard is higher and it can be quite easy to stand out amongst the crowd if you have certain degree of talent.[b said:Quote[/b] (Pablo @ Jan. 04 2007,10:07)]By the looks of it Southend are not exactly "championship" standard either......[b said:Quote[/b] (EastStandBlue @ Jan. Roy has many caps at various international levels, 10 European hames under his belt in the last 2 seasons etc etc
And Kevin Doyle didnt find the "jump" too difficult did he?
Theres players with 10% of Roys ability like Trevor Molloy(to Motherwell) in the transfer window fetching 100k[b said:Quote[/b] (EastStandBlue @ Jan. 04 2007,10:10)]Woah, hold on there... No, Kevin Doyle didnt find the jump too hard, but O'Donovan isn't Kevin Doyle is he. Hes set a precedent for talented Irish players coming over but thats all.
In all honesty, if it werent for Kevin Doyle do you really think you'd fetch anything more than £100k for this lad?
