Indeed and although its been unsurprisingly delayed due to the economy hopefully it will quieten the doom mongers who have been criticising RM saying it would never happen.

agreed now he has put it back and told us it will be ready by 2012 that means that it will definately be ready by 2012 just like we would be moving in my the 2010 season?

are you on poppers jam man?? how the fek does that statement tell us it will definately be happening, he was hardly going to write 'oooh about that stadium I have been wafling on about naaaa aint gonna happen people' was he?

the statement he projected leaves me and you no further in the know than before

yep great point, I felt rather uncomfortable when RM 'felt he had to' comment about Foran, and Tilly putting him on the wing. It's much more interesting, and appropriate, when RM is talking about the Youth Team, the stadium and the finances, these are also the areas where he has the most understanding... RM admitted that before SUFC he wasn't a footballing man, this could grate with T&B if he then starts sticking his oar in about footballing matters and team selections, leave it to T&B!

Agreed with that. I've been critical about Ron Martin's style in previous blogs and the way he's tried to spread the blame around for things with careful words. But this was the best blog yet. Just what we want. A proper insight to the things at the club that he can and should be telling us about, without undermining Tilly or any of the players.

A question, Ron, that I'd like to know the answer to regarding the new stadium in a future blog: please explain how the retail and other ancillary revenue will benefit Southend United if Southend United do not own the stadium/property? Why would the money be used to subsidise the club? As I understand it, the property company - and not Southend United - would own the property and get the retail revenue. So why pump it back into the club? That may make sense if the person owning the property company wanted to subsidise the club because they are a supporter and don't mind the club benefiting from the money they make elsewhere in the group, but it doesn't seem to make sense for the property company on a purely financial basis.
