I've been of the firm belief for the last week or so that we've tried to sign a number of people - most of the ones that have been talked about (Jevons, Hayter, Holt, Fallon... maybe even Cureton and Harris) and, largely for wages reasons (as opposed to transfer fees), none of them has been hungry enough to gamble on the Roots Hall revolution by taking a pay-cut now in order to have the chance of playing Championship football next season.

As a result, we'll probably sign no one. Who could blame those strikers? They can stay on the money they're on where they currently are (or move to moneybags like Swansea & Forest), they can wait to see whether in fact we'll go up or not, and if we do, they can then send their agents scurrying around in the summer saying how desperate they've always been to play for us.

And if we don't go up, then said strikers won't have lost out at all... That's my theory, at any rate.

Incidentally, what happened to that Kabba bloke - did he stick around, or did he head back to Sweden?

I believe so.

All these message boards are stating we're signing such and such, and if they've 'hit the nail on the head', of course RM's gonna come out and say we're not interested.
We're supposed to be keeping signings under wraps, so he's trying to throw us off the scent.

That's my reckoning anyway.
