Ron in court.

Jumping ahead a bit and if it is RM, surely loans for Fossett Farm won't be forthcoming, if there is a serious fraud case going through the system.

That's the thought most of us are having I suspect. The last time planning permission was granted it was screw ed by a global banking crisis. This time it could be screw ed by a tax fraud case...... are we cursed?

All this speculation but is anyone able to fully confirm once the hearing has taken place what exactly the charges are? Or is it going to be more speculation?

Of course there will be some speculation as to the exact wording.....but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to guess the jist of it, do you?

Around 95% of cases are actually dealt with in a Magistrates Court and completed there. More serious cases are passed on to the Crown Court, either for sentencing after being found Guilty in the Magistrates Court or for a full trial with judge and jury

Serious Fraud cases can take months if in the Crown Court, as a Juror I was listed for one for 6 weeks initially and they can run for months

A Magistrates Court is usually open to the public

Anyone live near Westminster and able to pop along ?

Not sure about the actual attendance in truth given Covid and testings etc or whether Zoom utilised

2 or 3 Magistrates take a hearing or one district Judge

The Government advise you cant take a weapon with you but go need a mask and sanitiser and there will be searches and security checks on entering the building

Not sure why you mention this? If I'm attending court I dont normally go packing!

I may be wrong but Homes England are putting up the money for the stadium, and they are a Government organisation. Given the penchant the current Government has for corruption, they are likely to look favourably on this - he's their kind of person.

I'm a financial analyst and I only deal in numbers as they are always nice and accurate. On a trial balance they will always add up and any issues stand out very clearly.

I guess i like to know all of the facts, especially when its not presented to me in 01100110 01110010 01100001 01110101 01100100 format

So it isn't mistaken identity. My neighbours went to trial for something similar and along with financial penalties they were banned from being company directors for 15 years.

I guess if this goes badly for Ron, his son will quickly take over to deal with the builds whilst Tom runs the footballing side

Ron is a very public spirited sort of guy. He has previously gone to the trouble of assisting the police with their inquiries into a case of financial irregularity. Surely this would count in his favour.
If he's guilty of fraud then its irrelevent what he's done before.

This kind of case would one not be hidden from the local press .And two i very much doubt the council would have approved the stadium plans in the light of this .Your not telling me in the light of todays media grape vine .And the major press a case of this nature would have come out much sooner than now .

We're Southend United, not Manchester United. Why would the major press be keeping tabs on Ron Martin?
