Hopefully a poll will put some of the opinions expressed in some sort of context .
I think Ron is doing a great job . Having gone through the Anton Johnson and Vic Jobson eras - " We've never had it so good " !

He's a businessman, but I think he has a passion for the club.

Best one for a long time. Keep up the good work Mr Ron.

Im happy to say I have never trusted the man ( Shot down in Flames from the beginning, and I fully expect now ) good PR work and words.
At the end of the day he has steered the club , but based on his football knowledge and his passion for making money in business, then I feel not good for the club.
My opinion only, reason I gave up my season ticket after many many years of watching the club from the 1970's

I can't believe this question is even being asked...

The only criticism people are firing at him recently is the lack of activity in the transfer market, but what exactly are we supposed to do if the right players aren't available? Apart from a late flourish from tge biggest club in the world and the newly richest club in the world, this was set to be the slowest window in years...

The Credit Crunch is affecting football, it's plain to see, and i'd much rather have a chairman who's smart enough to tighten the pursestrings before the recession sets in than someone who blows our money, only for the recession to send us back into financial oblivion.

We're financially better off now than we have been for decades, we're better off in terms of football now than we have been since the early-mid 90's and RM has done something that none of our previous chairmen have been able to do - overcome the council and have plans accepted for a stadium that will undoubtedly provide us with stability in the future.

So you think Ron is worse than Vic Jobson etc etc...old age must have addled your brain mate!!

without a doubt the best chairman we've had since Bill Rubin. Time will show the cynics I'm right. I've met him several times.
The question I've always asked is, "is the the man who wants to go down in history as the man who shafted and killed the club or one who will go down as it's saviour (and in the process make some money for himself)" The answer has always been the latter.
I fully expect J to join the camp later today - if he's not having to consult his lawyers that is :)

The only thing that concerns me is did Ron not say that in accordance with an agreement with Sainsburys that we have to be out of Roots Hall by 2010?

Now if the FF building is being affected by the credit crunch where does that leave us?

Different era, different game, money was not be and end all of the game I paid to watch, in todays world of football, Chairman seem to enjoy the limelight as much players, you only have to look at the premiership, bet you could name 50 % of chairman when once they stayed in the back ground.

We have to remember football clubs are now a business and not a sports past time for supporters

Not sure I follow your argument there.....Vic hardly 'stayed in the back ground'.

right this is what I think,

started off as just a chance for him to turn a football club in to a building site

sacked wignall (because he needed to be seen doing something)

signed tilly as manager

realised he actually likes this football lark

gets carried away on all the promotion play off couple of years

times get hard

**** ive still got that feking football club

aah the football club theres a few quid there

I need that club to get the go ahead for that development I want

got the development

zzzzzh ooh yer the football club

thats my opinion, I would love to be proved wrong, and i would love a tiny bit of a level with saving money for the new stadium and letting the team suffer maybe a 60-40 compromise instead of the 95-5 switch it seems to be at the moment, other fans might not see things my way for them it might be 95 stadium 5 % tteam its just the way I like things be interesting to see how others view things?

Nothing wrong with Ron he's a superstar in my eyes and is pushing this club forward. The people that are picking on him probably don't remember Vic Jobson. They were off supporting Liverpool until they became **** in the 90's or Arsenal before you needed to remortgage your house to get a season ticket.

Good job, All day good job. He shows so much passion for the club and if anyone votes for No then they are extremely hard to please. I dont think any other chairman would have worked so hard for our future with the new stadium and take the time out to speak to the fans.
