I lost my Dad two weeks ago, and it made me think back to how sad Harry's & Steven's friends & family must have felt at their loss.
Its horrible, no other way to describe it, but hope they and all the others we have lost are all up there on the Shrimper's cloud watching out and over from above :angel::angel::angel::angel:

There's a line I heard somewhere about making people more in death than they were in life, but Harry was actually one of the most genuine guys you could ever meet. He would never try to court favour by saying something to please another person. And I loved his loyalty to many of the guys (and gals) on here. I cannot pay a better testament to his great character than reminding you all of his fundamental decency and great humour. As if you needed reminding. And (not to be under-estimated), he always got his round in. I miss you, dear friend.

Reading through the swathes of genuinely heartfelt and gracious tributes shows that Harry was held in the highest regard by all who met him and many who hadn't. My sincere condolences to both his real-world and SZ families.

I know it is 4 days late Harry on your anniversary but you are still remembered when we have our Leigh Comm reunions . Harry it is 43 years ago today that we all went down to Bournemouth to watch Southend , we all went by car and I seem to recall you were squeezed in to the back of a mini . Happy memorys .

Just been re-reading this thread. Lots of lovely words, I'm sure H would have told us all to stop being such a load of soppy *******s. Then made a joke about Cricko being old. Then farted.

Yep I agree , although the order may have been different.
He had little control over the last one ! :winking:

"We're gonna get spanked."

Just thinking about H the other day, coincidentally. I still miss him loads but love all the love that's still here for the old rascal.

And ACU does this quite often. I still really miss Harry.

As well as the diamond he was in real life, Kay, I miss him on here hugely too. Some of his posts were hilarious - I remember some fantastic pictures of mutant sheep on a Col Ewe thread a few years ago - and he was often able to be a great unifying voice of reason between our different "factions" on here.

Yeah he was one of the very best posters on here. Funny, insightful, genuine and unifying.

I fondly remember the Sunday night quizzes and how Harry would always have trouble with his broadband, fading in and out of asking, answering and over-seeing....always open to having the mickey taken in perfect good humour, always the gentleman. Remember flying with him and Hutton up to Glasgow, and ending up in a Wetherspoons when we got there for a late breakfast. He was just the nicest of people.

Harry was one of the first people from SZ who Cricko introduced me to outside The Spread back in the spring of 2009 (think we'd just beaten Carlisle 3-0) and he was immediately friendly and full of chat. We'd already had a "friendship" through SZ over the previous few months and it felt like I'd known him for years. We met up after that on my trips back to the Hall and he came down to Cornwall to see some of the 2010 World Cup with me. I only knew him for a few years but he was a staunch friend during that time. Loved seeing him crack on with 'Zoners whilst I was with him at The Spread and wish I could share another round of beers with him. Such joys are all too fleeting ... but I treasure those times. Shine on, you cheeky diamond.
