Oh please let it be true! If ever a squad needs drastic 'freshening up' its this one. We have too many 'yeh but he's got so much potential' type of player - who rarely delivers a match winning preformance and Laurent is No. 1 in this category. Add Grant, Mousa & JFC and thats a midfield that could you down! Mix in a makeshift defence, sell your leading scorer and replace him with someone who puts in the most inefective debut I've ever seen and thats a mix that WILL take you down!

So in short you're not overly optimistic?

I'd happily drive JFC there myself

Amazing! Every player is crap according to the fans and then when they move on and are successful its tillys fault for not seeing the potential. JFC is capable if not low on confidence. In essence I feel he should be played as an out and out attacking mid and we may then see the best of him. As for Laurent, he may not be Mr. consistent at the moment but he still has time to progress and come to hand. IMO he is not a winger, whatever he says, he is a striker and if he did a bit more of his clever runs on the ball in and around the box he would score, provide goals and earn countless free-kicks and penalties. If he had a regular run up front, bagged a few goals, he would never want the wing again.

Must admit that watching that first half took me back to 'the bad old days' of the mid 80's. The second half was more encouraging, but the West Stand around me are now begining to laugh, rather than get angry, at our pathetic efforts to score - and thats not a good sign

My point entirely - POTENTIAL! We have too many who show it and not enough who deliver. We are 4 pts off the drop zone and do not have the luxury of waiting for them to develope - if they ever do.

Look ................just imagine us as one of those huge oil tankers on which the crew have difficulty understanding each others languages and the Captain, though competent, is in charge of an old and poorly maintained vessel. Throwing the crew overboard is hardly going to improve matters, especially when you know that any replacements are likely to be no better in standard and possibly even less experieced to deal with the kind of seas we may face over the coming months. The hope must be that the present equipe (with one or two additions), get know the ropes quickly and improve their skills.
The company have promised the captain and some of the crew a spanking new boat with all mod cons..........some say that it's only that promise that has halted a full scale mutiny. However, for the moment, they haven't even started its construction.
Anyway, for the time being, there is nothing very much anyone can do.
The old tub is set on its course and either we will end up in the calm seas of mid ocean or we will go down round Cape Horn...........such is the way of life. My advice..........don't panic.................................................... .....................................................Just sit back and enjoy the cruise.

Thats ridiculously harsh! Playing as a lone striker, with no support or service - plus he only joined the day before and knew nobodies name!? Give the kid a chance!

I though after the goal, we saw a bit of what he was about - good link play, great first touch, nice vision etc.

The big problem is as a lone front man, he had to keep looking for ball and often that meant he pulled out wide when he should have stayed central - apart from that, I'm sure he will do well for us.

If Laurent had scored his sitter, Paterson would've been integral in winning the game for us. For what it's worth, I was very impressed by Paterson's all round play at the weekend... He has vision, a nice touch and links up play well with the midfield. He'll be a very important player for us.

I will give you petrol money

The thing that will stop JFC being a decent attacking midfielder, is the fact he can't pass the ball, can't shoot. Oh and he's the only professional footballer who can't head the ball properly.

Oh Mr.50p head won't be going anywhere
