Resetting Rep

What's the thinking behind resetting it? I haven't seen it on other forums I've used and I quite like it TBH - easy and quick way to indicate approval/disapproval without posting, reckon it might keep duplicate posts of approval down. I don't suppose a re-set would hurt one way or the other but I think keep the system.

There you have it, the whole basis for the rep system in one sentence; keeps a whole load of crap off the board and, if you don't take life too seriously, it's often great fun. Interestingly, the small number of issues we've had with rep over the years we can count on two hands. The number of posters involved, you can almost count on one.

For me, it's another form of interaction and is one of the reasons why the board works so well.

As for the reset, not bothered either way. Anyone taking the system and any comments seriously needs to get out more. And anyone who's worried about the number of dots they've got on an internet forum needs to rethink their outlook on life.

SBH as you know, we cater for all sorts on the Zone --- from the paranoid to the extrovert to the shy to the complete over-the-top nutter and it seems as if the Zone is some member's complete lives. Lots of us need to get out more.

Get a life. My guess is that's it's your knickers in a twist again about rep that's prompted this poll. If you don't like neg rep don't check it. I like rep good or bad. If you're going to reset it you might as well scrap it entirely

Nope, not raised this recently, have no idea where Cricko got the idea to do a poll from. My guess (rather more justifiable than your incorrect assumption) is that as they were changing a few things He thought he'd throw the idea out there. So, don't tell me to "get a life", I have one I'm perfectly happy with thank you.

Got to say I'm not that impressed with the idea of notifications when you receive rep though, the ability to check has always been there without the need to be notified.
