Simple question for you all. Do we or do we not.....
Do you mean resetting it back to zero?
Not really fussed at all, seeing as rep hasn't really been an issue (at least from the public side of the board) for a while, I don't see why it needs to be changed. But then again, maybe a fresh start would be interesting, and people would use rep a bit differently.
Then the forum will be littered with all these +1 posts. Keep it simple. As I've advocated for a while, just get rid of "rep", nothing against showing approval, but not in the same way.

What's the thinking behind resetting it? I haven't seen it on other forums I've used and I quite like it TBH - easy and quick way to indicate approval/disapproval without posting, reckon it might keep duplicate posts of approval down. I don't suppose a re-set would hurt one way or the other.
There you have it, the whole basis for the rep system in one sentence; keeps a whole load of crap off the board and, if you don't take life too seriously, it's often great fun. Interestingly, the small number of issues we've had with rep over the years we can count on two hands. The number of posters involved, you can almost count on one.
For me, it's another form of interaction and is one of the reasons why the board works so well.
As for the reset, not bothered either way. Anyone taking the system and any comments seriously needs to get out more. And anyone who's worried about the number of dots they've got on an internet forum needs to rethink their outlook on life.
