They were talking about poppy on 5 live this morning and some stupid woman sent in a text saying they shouldnt be worn as they glorify British murderers who killed thousands of innocent Germans.
I suppose the other option would have been to ignore the Germans threat then instead of having the option of wearing a poppy she would be wearing a swastika.

This is the problem with our country these days, its full of mamby pamby idiots.

Agree totaly, I lost family in First world war and second, me Grandad was in the Battle of Alantic and also on the ships that had to travel to North Russia in the winter

The Arctic Convoys assembled in and departed from Loch Ewe, which is 100yds from my front door. There is a Naval Trail around the area, with information points and any number of old gun emplacements, etc. There is also a Memorial to those who lost their lives in the Russian Convoys. If you want any more info or pics, SUFCHUTTON, I would be happy to supply them.
