Released Players, Possible Transfer Targets?

Wade Small plays mainly on the left though, hence my suggestion.

I don't know the plans for Betsy, but I do know Scannell has been told he's in our plans for next season.

Bowditch would be good signing just for the Norwich matches!

But I can see us scrambling to get loan players in again as any players worth their salt will be picked off by CCC teams or Charlton Leeds, MK Dons(if either they stay down).

Don't think Sawyer will be here but Hal Kanu Robson he has prooved to be a legend for us when playing and I would like to see him wearing the blues shirt for 2-3 years!

That's if reading are letting him go?

He signed a new 3 year contract a month or two ago I think but that could have been just so that they can get a fee for him. I think we have more of a chance of signing Sawyer who is out of contract at Chelsea.

The Sun stated that US, Col ewe & Huddersfield are interested in Centre Back Michael Nelson who has turned down a deal at Hartlepool.....

So i guess he'll go to Huddersfield then.....

I see Darren Purse has been released by Cardiff - still only 32 so could do a job for us at CB if Clarkey goes and Dorian doesn't return.

Former Borient but we wouldn't hold that against him! He's an East London boy.

Apparently Norwich, Wednesday and MK Dons are in the hunt so we may be priced out of the market.

Thoughts?

Was going to suggest him but I had heard he was off to Norwich in the summer but that was before they went down. I assume his off to Sheff Weds.

Tone (aka Nicky)- You really are an enigma.

On one hand you moan about every single player we have and say they are not good enough and then on the other you want us to pick up a player who has been released by a fairly average side in the league below.

I accept that he could be a gem and good players get released but if Dagenham dont want you then chances are we dont either surely...

does out of contract mean his been released?

i think not

He is also a legend and we as Southend fans owe him a lot.

Am I right in thinking it was he who scored the last gasp equaliser for 'Pool at Brentford, on the penultimate weekend, to gift us promotion to CCC at Swansea?...

correct remember singing 1 michael nelsssoooooon on way home....

Michael Nelson is exactly the Dorian type player we require. He's be a super, super signing.

I imagine, unfortunately though, that we'd get gazumped in the wages department though.

may not be good enough, but alex rhodes has been released by rotherham, pacey left winger, can also play up top, could be a bargain hunt or another lower league player that cant cut it

Our main priorities:
1. Centre back
2. Left wing
3. Good striker
4. Full backs
5. Right wing

Plenty of decent centre backs have been mentioned already, a few good left wingers too and Theo could be the answer to our striker problem if we can afford it!

a left winger that can play upfront? I'm surprised Tilson hasnt signed him already - or has he learnt his lesson??!!

Doesn't Tilly sign strikers that can play on the wing? A winger that can play up front is a whole new proposition, I can see Tilly getting excited about this one.

Watched Gills vs rochadale last night and was well impressed with Andy Barcham for the gills. Is he on loan from Spurs still or is her a perm signing. Really looked the biz.
