We have 23 strikers on our books and we need a loan to cover injuries to 22 of them....

23 players with naff all goals to show between them (after a bright start to the season from Freedman and Barney)...

We need someone who has enough confidence right now to actually put one in the net once in a while, so I agree that means bringing someone in.

A better defence (sounds like progress may be being made there) and a bit more creativity and threat from midfield would be great too.

How many goals have been scored from midfield this season? Not many I bet...

We will be now, and in general that is the aim of the club and where we are going, maybe not this season, but who knows now we got dorian and hopefully borrowdale

Stop being so deluded. We're in a relegation fight at the moment and, to be pushing for the Championship, would have to win 95% of our remaining games pretty much.

Indeed, Cousin Weir. Before today I would have said that sorting the defence was top priority - but fingers crossed Dervitte and (if signed) Borrowdale may improve that area of the team.

Next highest priority, I fully agree, is midfield creativity and genuine threat - followed by the strikers, which in terms of fit bodies on form is clearly under strength too at the moment.

7 in the league, 12 in all competitions.

In fact, we have lost only one match in the league this season in which a midfielder has scored (Walsall away in August).

However, it has been three and a half months since the last time our top scorer (Lee Barnard) scored a goal. I know he was out for most of that period, but it just goes to show that our goalscoring has dried up so much since the last time we scored more than one goal in a league match back in the middle of November that noone has overtaken him as top scorer.

Yeah, but with strikers we only need short loans until our regular guys are fit.

There's no point signing lots of forwards on permanents because we had too many already!!

Maybe we have put a bid in for the Reading great Trevor Senior. He always used to score against us and would IMHO be a great signing - Plus he would give us the experience we are lacking......Nice one Tilly.
