If the Leeds fans start any racist chants towards any of the Southend players tomorrow , can we expect the Police, given their increased presence, to evict the no doubt small number of mindless idiots responsible , rather than shrug their shoulders as they did against Derby ????

Not sure what you mean , my friend .

To give you a bit of background , one of our players had to endure non-stop racist barracking from the Derby fans which I and many others found unpleasant . A complaint was lodged at half time and I think a warning may have been given out . Fortunately the abuse abated second half . I doubt that the offenders would have been evicted as the police said they had insufficient numbers that day .

God I hope they dont mention anything to do with pikeys or caravans, I cant take such offensive comments.

What are people going to complain about when Freddy leaves and opposition fans still call us pikeys ?

If the police go wading in to anyone who shouts anything they are just going to cause problems for themselves arent they, and with tomorrows game so tense they are going to want to play it cool.

Anyway anyone from Leeds who shouts racist abuse are just making clowns of themsleves as Leeds is ethnic to say the least.

I prefer the Pikey tag to the Chav one which is just a little close to the truth to be comfortable.

Maybe we should take a leaf out of the Tottenham and Ipswich and embrace this term of abuse ourselves.

Not much point calling Tottenhame fans Yids or Ipswich fans Tractor Boys is there?

Personally I hate racism but in this case I do think its a case of oversensitivity and lack of sense of humour.

Freddy has a lifestyle that he chooses to live, Im not surprised it raises chants and I know full well if it were a Col U player we would do the same.

Im also not even convinced the pikey chants are solely because of Freddy, were we not called chavs and pikeys before Freddy's lifestyle even came to be public knowledge ?

I cant believe how many posts there have been about the big bad nasty leeds fans. Its not like we've never played a big club before, I'll be the first to predict that not even that much trouble will happen, well not much different from a normal frriday/saturday night in town anyway.

To be honest the only way it will kick off is if any southend lads take exception to the leeds fans invason of southend. I doubt even the muppets that will kick off would start on an innocent fan, it will take a southend lad to react to them which will start it all off.

If Leeds fans cause a problem - for example if Plod pull out a few racists -
then their club could face a points deduction and we don't want to be anywhere near that happening to us .

That said I am now off to the Hall and next time I look at this we shall know what happened
