I know my views will upset the PC lot but show me where it exists in any other form of the animal kingdom or any long lost tibes.
turn back the clock a few thousand years in Ancient Greece and both paedophilia and homosexuality were very much the norm

gay animals- there's loads of examples...

Just moving this over to The Pub. Not really a Southend debate now, although a very interesting one all the same...

Well i have watched this debate with much interest. I personally think that the whole country has gone PC crazy. Here is a good example.

I used to work with two Pakistani guys. Both really nice fellas and got on with both of them. We used to spend alot of our time taking the p1ss out of each other and the two of them used to call each other names like " silly **** " and stuff like that. After a while i used to do the same, until one day i get asked to attend a meeting by human resources. Somebody had heard me and made a complaint. The two guys were called in and agreed with me that it was nothing more than playful and certainly not malicious in any way. I still got a caution and was told not to copy what the guys say to each other. Now my point seems to be that black and asian people call each other ****** **** and what not all day long but the moment we say it it is racist. We will always have a type of racism if it is one rule for one and another for somebody else.

That just the way it is....:(

Is that not the Mission Statement for The Commission for Racial Equality?

though this is of course highly amusing as opposed to offensive...
Trust me, its not funny. My son is ginger and at times it has been very painful , especially as a young child, seeing the bullying etc.
that last line was suposed to be sarcastic .. should have made it a bit clearer..

I know what you're getting at TTHs, but I would disagree, depending on the situation.

It's one thing to say something when you're actually friendly with someone and you know that they aren't going to take offence, it is quite another to say it to some you don't know.

Not really , probably me being an overprotective dad.......

Mind you it does actually serve to illustrate the point, two seemingly sensible, generally rational posters of (I assume) the same race.....Major differences regarding someones hair colour..........
