Have some respect his daughter Nicola Smith died some years ago
If that is true, then i withdraw that original question. I didn't know!

3 questions -

1) Bearing in mind the decline the club suffered within 2 years of him going, did he see what was coming and therefore "jumped ship" or does he feel that he left the club in a good state and the problems were caused as a result of the new setup after his departure?

2) Was he ever asked (or tempted) to come back at a later date?

3) Did he enjoy his time at Southend, are there any regrets and is there anything he would do differently if he had the chance again?

What part of Anton Johnson's anatomy would you put on the end of a skewer?

Where's my ticket for a home game you promised me in 1979 when I was playing cricket in Blenheim Park and you brought the squad over for pre-season training and asked us if we would mind moving our game elsewhere - with the carrot that you would give us tickets for a match. Eh? Eh?

Why didn't you sign Fritz Bischoff, in the end?

A god at last on this site

1.0 Hows you Son, have great memories ten pin bowling with him on a friday night on the pier ?

2.0 Manfield, Southend, Torquay, Plymouth, which club holds your heart most

3.0 Cusack, Hadley one of the finest central partnerships I have seen at Southend, which two players gained your respect in the teams you have managed

4.0 I know how I felt he day you was sacked, how hard was it for you the day you was shown the door

Great memories from you and the 80's team, thanks for the those days, we maybe in the Champuonship, but I somehow donot think we get the buzz, as times have changed in the team game

Sacrelige! A love of Marmite is one of the prerequisites of Britishness. A hatred of it, a sign of an undeveloped, nay immature palate.

On top of which, without Marmite my son might not be alive today.

Which Southend match do you remember most vividly, and why?

I am SO FED UP with these flippant, Completely POLITICALLY INCORRECT questions.

How can you post a question like that? It is so demeaning, people have a right to be treated with respect, imagine if one of the people in question happened to log on and read that? How hurt they would be. This is the modern world, and it would do us all well to remember that!

In these enlightened and equal days, the question should have read:

[b said:

Blimey - fair play, then.  Marmite is allowed.

oops.gif
Hang on a mo, Matt, I didn't actually say if Marmite sustaining my son was a good thing or a bad thing... at the age he is just now, it's a pretty fine balance.
