People saying they’d rather face Forest Green than York, if we’re to go up we’d still have to face York (or the team that beats them) in the final! We’re massive anyway so should be fine

Can we, of course, will we, I don't know. At this stage I'd put our chances at less than 50%. But we should fear no one.

Think a huge part of any teams chances will be dependant on having some experienced heads in the team. The likes of hopper, bonne, Ralph, goodliffe have experienced pressure games and can stay composed. Feel some of our younger and\or inexperienced players (experience of pressure games), take a while to settle their nerves and get into a game. Coker being an example and probably Scott morris and taylor too, although I thought Taylor Ralph and goodliffe all had great games.

I don’t think we will get promotion but saying that all teams in the playoffs have no consistency over the last few weeks, only Barnet seem to be consistent and they are up, we still have a good chance of winning these playoffs, just a big shame we ain’t at home as I think other clubs would hate coming to roots hall.

Unbeaten vs everyone but York out of the play off teams.
True but York have 28 more points than us and have scored 36 more goals, Forest Green 15 more points, so clearly over the course of the season they've been significantly better. As I said in a previous thread, it really should be three up three down between NL and L2 - at least from next season :Winking:

Thought this myself. I think it's better to keep playing competitively rather than a big gap which could see a small drop in match fitness and cohesion.
I've not seen Hayes face a pen, but he's quite a big imposing character who looks the type to relish the challenge should it happen.
Wonder who our 5 best pen takers on the pitch would be after 90 mins.pitch

Think of it this way.. what the heck are Forest Green going to do for the next 2 weeks+ without any competitive football, sometimes playing on a regular basis might have merits.
Indeed. It also seems Rochdale rested a fair few players yesterday, but how much rest do you need? We've got 10 days as it is. Surely that's more than enough.

I suppose it did help them remove the risk of one of them getting injured. Hopefully we're all clear on that front.
