Progressive Politics

Fair comment, but I'm struggling to see the examples of socialism 'working'.

I think the truth of it is that all systems will eventually fail. Whether you like Thatcher or not, she eventually failed. (Can't do Blair because he resigned.) Whether you like Brown or not, eventually he failed. Cameron will eventually fail, as will all subsequent PMs. The fact is that they will all have their periods of success, and as soon as they fail we'll all vote them out for someone else, and the cycle will continue.

Cynical? Not really. Or certainly not intended to be. No-one can be successful for ever. I think from that perspective the American system where someone can only have 2 terms is actually quite sensible.

Ok someone in Sweden doesn't like high taxes has shown that , their taxes have got higher over the years (no mention of quality of life or services or benefits and profits will drop anyway in a global recessions ). And their guessing in 20 years it might change ?
Norway ? Anything for Norway ?

Quality of life, doesn't Sweden have the highest rate of suicide in Europe?

Thanks firestorm . no the sucide rate was a fib from back in 90s . Iceland does have the highest of the scandinavian mind ;-).
