Regrettably I cant make the trip and will now have to make do with the stream. The flight would have been an excellent one to do from my previous one with the club to Fiorentina.
Many many thanks for the time and efforts taken by Paddypel endeavoring to arrange this.

Thank you for all your efforts on this, especially for those unable to sit on a coach for so long.Maybe long distance trips next season could utilise air travel, especially if the cosu could enter into talks to get some sort of deal with southend airport ,or the airport could do some domestic flights

if we stay in the National League Truro would be good and Carlisle

Dear All,

Thanks very much for registering your interest in the flight charter for Gateshead away on Monday. Unfortunately we’re still a way short of the numbers needed to secure the flight at the price quoted on SZ £111-138 PP. We had 131 names down but a dozen or so have dropped out off the back of the club chosing to show the game live at RH.

I have explored the possibility of chartering a smaller aircraft but can only obtain a 70 seater aircraft which is significantly more expensive per head than the initial quote for the 189 seater aircraft. I have made enquiries to other brokers & charters but again are significantly more expensive than the initial quote from LunaGroup.

With this being the case as Monday is fast approaching, I beleive it’s only fair to shelve the idea and give everyone the chance to source alternative transport up the Gateshead for the game. Would’ve loved to have got this off the ground! But was always going to need healthy uptake and quick turnaround to make this happen. Sorry this couldn’t be made to happen but it’s only fair to make the decision now for travel planning purposes.

Hope to see everyone up at Gateshead by Monday, however you end up getting there!

Up the Blues!

Best Regards,

Perry
Great idea mate sorry it didn't work out

I recall one season around 2008, we had a possibility of a playoff game at Carlisle. I worked out if i left home around 3pm i could fly from Stansted to Glasgow, hire an Easyjet car and drive to Carlisle for the evening game then drive back to Stansted to drop off the hire car. We didnt play them in the end.

Well done for trying Perry. It was a great effort.

True you can fly to Newquay from Southend but you couldn’t watch the game so not possible in one day
I bet if the company knows the demand they might put on an extra flight and rearrange flight times specifically to cater for the supporters on the day we play Truro. I could be wrong but can't see a flight to Newquay from Southend being constantly packed to the rafters.

Many thanks for this!
I would have been all over this had I not been told on Sunday there were only 5 seats on return flight to Heathrow.
I'm sure many were in a same position.

2008?. We ended up playing Doncaster, & Carlisle played Leeds.

Yep... but I can think of worst places in the country to spend a couple of days or so.
In the last 12 months I have walked the North coast of Cornwall with a fellow Shrimper. Plenty of great places to stay and some of the best walking in the world let alone Britain.

Depending on the date and if…..But a weekender for Truro should be top of anyone’s list next season.
