Potential Departures in January

Well to counteract the other thread, who could be leaving???

For a wild card I will throw in Hammell. Apparently unhappy, lets it know just before the window opens, not really played much this year and we would get a decent fee for him. Also....hamstring strain yesterday...

I want Hammell to stay. I think he's an important part of the team.

I think Harrold, Hooper could be off.

Also think Morgan is returning to Luton.

I was thinking the same about Hammell, ie a deal has been done and they don't want hom to get injured before the deadline day and scupper the deal

We shall see but would not be suprised, he is capable of playing at a much higher level

I heard Hammell had an injury yesterday anyway

Harrold/Hooper/Leon/Morgan.... we'll be left with Charlie Mac as a lone striker then? Pray to god he doesn't get a knock :D

Che has to be thinking of leaving soon. He's not really back up for any position so why be in the squad. Harrold should leave but after being a sub vs oldham i doubt he will. Morgan is not good enough. His pace is his main attribute but he's not even that quick.

im not 100% sure but i think there is a very good chance that Foran wont be returning to the hall

as for other departures i would have guesses at che and morgan returning on loan
I think we have signed Clarke and dont think we will be able to find anyone willing to buy harrold

i think foran will go to, can't blame him either to be honest. usually when we let someone go out on loan they never usually come back or so for a short time then get sold on.

I can't say I would be too disappointed with Stevie Hammell going in January. Ok so he is quite a good set piece taker.........but for me defensively he isn't quite strong enough and on most occasions gets caught out.

The players I can see going in January are:

Stevie Hammell (probably back up to Scotland)

Richie Foran (Darlington.....a shame that the guy was never given a decent chance!)

Gary Hooper (whoever wants him.....though I expect he'll move to Borient, as they seem to think he's so good)

Dean Morgan (returning to Luton)

Simon Francis (can't see him putting up with a 'bit part role' for much longer.....might return to Tranmere or somewhere nearer home)

as far as im comcernd, this squad is not good enough to go up and wont go up. Therefore its a good a time as any to start building for next season.

The players i would release would be.

Wilson
Francis
Hunt
Black
Hooper
Harrold
and i wouldnt sign Morgan permantly either.

none of these players are good enough to get us promotion or play in the championship if we ever get back there.

I would like all the over critical, fair-weather, not true & committed supporters, "I've played pro football for a number of years & am qualified to comment sarcastically" who were so vastly in evidence at the Keepmoat yesterday to end their association with my club in January.

As I said at the game, it was the first time in over 15 years I've ever been embarassed at a game to be a Southend fan yesterday. Some people need to take a long hard look at themselves I'm afraid!

To be fair, two of those players did get us promoted to the Championship. I think your plan would leave us a bit short at the back. The last thing we need is to disorganise the defence any more.

I think we should wait until the summer until we have a bit of a clearout, we would be really short for the rest of the season if we got rid of that many players now.

I'd be happy to see Harrold and Foran scuttle off with Morgan returning to Luton. Ideally Lewis Hunt would get lost on his way to training and never be found again, but I don't think I'm that lucky.

I think that Foran will be off, possibly with Hooper, but that will be that. I don't think Hammell will leave until the summer, but I could be wrong.
