I hate to go negative on a rare positive post, but Francis was at fault for at least one goal if not arguably all three.

For the first goal he conceded the free-kick and then switched off.
The second goal I think it was him who missed the header to clear the corner, although there were plenty of other Southend defenders not doing their job either.
Finally, for the third goal, which he actually scored, he played Chopra onside, which allowed Chopra to put the cross in.

Those three mistakes aside I think he did play well and did a lot of good stuff, but they were costly mistakes.

That's true but I still reckon he did enough in the rest of his performance.

I would suggest for the first that there should be someone stood on the ball who won't be brought back to defend in the box. Probably should have had JCR stood on it. Second goal, when I watched the highlights again earlier, I swear it was someone with white boots who completely jumped under the ball. I assumed it was Hunt but then he was still behind the ball.

On a fairly separate point, the reaction to bad games is never as bad on the weekend. It all tends to kick off when people are back at work.

Ahh yeah. The third. I had a feeling it was Barrett being a bit lazy to play him on but didn't pay it much attention when I saw it again.
