We've got a game in less than 48 hours in case anyone has forgotten.

Can't see there being changes from Monday unless enforced by injury?

Will be a tough game, hopefully we can nick a goal and keep things tight to come away with 3 points.

Will be my first visit to Port Vale, typical we play them once I move back to Essex

Hopefully we can get 3 points so the lonely journey back will be enjoyable

PB will most likely revert back to a holding formation, but i hope he has the balls to go with both Holdsworth and Payne in midfield.

I'm not 100% on this but haven't port vale got one of the best home records this season? I think a draw would be a good. Result with 2 home wins to follow

Both Hunt and Barnett finished the match limping so wouldn't surprise me if there were some changes at the front. Atkinson also took a knock during the game. Wouldn't surprise me to see Worrall or McQueen in for Hunt or Barnett if necessary.

That was only a put on to make their slow sub walk off look real. You could see Coughlan telling Barnett to go down near to the West stand before he was subbed to make it good even though he looked ok at the time.:winking:

A Freudian Slip if ever there was one, there! :winking:

Port Vale's goals per game ratio is very low, so if we defend well enough, I think 3 points could be coming our way with "Stan" Barnett charging through their defence for the winner! :omg:

I doubt he will make any changes. Yes we are away from home but the 11 players on the pitch on monday were the 11 best players he had available and I think it would be very harsh to drop any of them.

Someone on the Port Vale forum is wondering if we will take three figures. I'm sure we will - maybe 250 - 300

My first trip to Vale, looking forward to it. I think 250-300 (above) is a good estimate - didn't we take 270 or something to Bradford and that was a Tuesday night?

We have not taken less than 100 fans to a league away game for many years. The lowest I can remember was 115 on a Tuesday night at Hartlepool in between Christmas and New Year I can't think of the season at the moment.

Was that the one where Flahaven, played the game of his life, to give us a result

Well, you can take my name off the list - I was planning to go before the nose started to run, the joints are sore, I keep sneezing and my head is throbbing. Yes - full blown man flu so sitting in the cold for 2 hours is not going to help.

As said above, why change the team? It was changed for Scunthorpe and Bradford with the result of no goals and no points and then changed again for Burton when it seemed to go okay.

But Port Vale do seem to have an impressive home record this season ............

Yep that's game I think, 28th December 2005. Looking at the rest of the away matches we certainly didn't have less than 100 at any of those.

I would think looking back there are a couple of evening matches around 2003 that may have been less than 100 away fans. Of course that was the famous season of 35 fans at Swansea in the LDV.
