Polishing my new boots

If you are a playing striker you should look forward to being kicked in every game as it means more free kicks and more chances for your team to score. Be a team player.

I used to wear a pair of white predators playing saturday football and i didnt think i got kicked anymore or anyless than i normally would have done.

However you do look a real tit if you are a sub wearing coloured boots...

We played a team last season, who was bottom of the table and got thumped every week. We was stuffing them 9-0, and their only half decent player, their right winger, got subbed where PINK boots.

Chins!

I wear white boots, and get the **** kicked out of me every week playing for my Uni team.

I sort of know how Ronaldo feels now :tumbleweed:

Correct - Beaches slope towards the sea and running across a slope is not good for you at all. You are better off running on the pavement.

Exactly. You are going to be running at an angle with the slope of the beach, with your right foot coming down less distance than your left, which is going to do no good for your ankles, ligaments or back. I guess some sprints up and down the beach (towards and away from the sea) wont be too bad as a variation to get some added resistance, but running long distances on across the slope is not going to be too kind to your body.

Who you playing for Forever a Shrimper?

colourful boots all the way! If you're quick enough, you dont get kicked too often, and i have won a shi*t load of pens in the past (im sure the General will vouch for that ;) )

Why don't you buy a cheap pair of boots for playing in so you don't soil the expensive blue ones?

For a while beach running was a part of Winter training in my Athletics days but only when the tide was out and it was done on the flat bit close to the mud. It was then followed by sprints up the shingle, but they were generall too short

To be honest, reps up the cliffs opposite the casino or the steps opposite Leigh station are better , Belton way if its more distance stamina that you are after.
I would say that mixing long steady runs with interval work would be the way forward for football training.

Find a football pitch Start in one Corner, sprint to the halfway line, Jog to the corner, Sprint the width, Jog to the Halfway line, Sprint to the corner , Jog the width and repeat 6 laps to begin with building up to 10. Alternatively sprint / Jog the diagonals . 3 of those sessions a week with 3 steady runs and 1 day off for 6 weeks should get you in reasonable shape for the season.

Then , assuming you are only doing football training one day a week and playing saturday, a couple of shorter sprint sessions and a steady run should maintain things during the season.

All good advice. Don't fancy running a SZFC session do you ;)
