Moving onto football clubs ........ there is Accrington Stanley.

Anyone remember Colly More Stanley?

(I think this is getting a little silly now ........................)

Butler Peter was fine unless you caught him in a bad mood, then you had to mind your ankles. Best get Footman Buster instead...
.

Crickey, that's a name I had forgotten about. Used to play alongside him in the same Sunday side. Nice bloke, good footballer. Back to the thread............how about Betsy Kevin?

Pennyfather Glenn sounds like a quaint old ex-gold rush village.

Southall Neville, he had a couple of well known twin nephews, but didn't trust his daughter with her uncle.

Austin Dean was a design specifically targeted at clergymen, but it never caught on cos they couldn't afford cars, not even Austins.

As well as being our physio, he was also my driving instructor. Bit of a character, liked the forresters pub and used to swear at us learners all the time. Wouldn't get away with it nowadays.

A few from the 1960s:

Lewis Bernard
Slack Mel (appropriate if you ever saw him play)
Taylor Peter (possible sex change needed there)
Hamilton Ian

How about the following:- Austin Dean(90-92), Clayton Eddie(68-70), Daley Peter(89-91), Denny Paul(75-77), Lee Norman(62-63), Leslie Lawrie(68-69), Lloyd Brian(69-71), Martin David(86-92), Neal Dean(86-88), Neal John(62-66), Nelson Garry(79-83), Thomas Martin(1983). All the above players have played for Southend United since I started watching them over 50 yers ago.
