Simon Cox used to do his own pre-season training and posted it up on his Instagram when he was still with us. The last one I remember he did was in Dubai or some such place.

Good to see them getting stuck into pre season early. Good on them.

I remember last pre-season Powell was out there doing his own thing, and posting it all over "the gram". Thus, I got a bit carried away that he was going to be one of our best players in 22/23.

He was... :). Can't fault his effort, and to be fair.. first 1/3 of the season, he was great.. sadly. The remainder just didn't click for him

Yet nearly all our early season goals (not enough I admit) involved CP. Even GSM scoring his first from a Mooney? corner......won by Powell forcing a decent save in the first place.

Just Like Mooney if it suddenly clicks and they start scoring a few we have couple of decent new signings. They really are confidence players.

Sometimes it just for whatever reason takes time to settle and adjust, not only to the team and the manager’s tactics but perhaps to a new living environment, new routine, new (increased) level of full time training. I would like to think we see an improved Cardwell, Powell, Mooney, more of the same from GSM and the likes of Benton and Wood stepping up in the coming season. I feel there is potential with these players, it is just about staying fit and confident to fulfill that.
