Right to the point..If someone wants to talk text lingo, then why the hell can't they? I thought this was a free country.
All you seem to do is bully around youngsters, some admin you are.
Nearly every post I've seen you write, is either slating that guy FootballMad13 or moaning about text talking.

You Mr Smith, have changed, you've changed a lot. This used to be a blinding board, but it is gradualy getting run down to the ground with these pathetic squabalings (spelling?).

I wonder if I done a poll, how many votes would back me up.

Mark Bentley will be player of the season. In 30 games time we will want to all join Bentleyism, on a part tiem basis with Barrettism obviously. Its certainly going to be the two of them 1 and 2

The trouble with freedom is that if someone exercises their right to do something "'cos it's a free country", that generally means something that is to someone else's detriment and which infringes on their "freedom".

Now I agree texttalk is hardly something that fits into that category, but it is a pet hate of mine (and many others).  It is fine on a mobile, where space is limited, but on here (where there is no feasible limit to the length of posts) I would rather see and read English.

This has been covered before, and without any major problems, with the "offenders" switching to normal language without any main problem.

So why is it an issue with you?  If you don't like it, go visit another forum.  Or maybe set up your own website where people can say and do whatever they like.  Then, (when you've experienced how much work it takes to operate and moderate a site with as much traffic as this) and only then, can you be qualified to level any sort of criticism at those who do.

Sorry, but this reads more like a personal attack on WS than anything. Last time I looked there were a lot of people moaning about the use of text talk on here... and quite bloody rightly!

This has nothing to do with being pathetic/pedantic etc. I have no reason to be having a go at kids for the fun of it. But the fact is that seeing the way SOME of our youngsters (not just on here!) communicate with each other annoys the hell out of me.

I do not care if people cannot spell, I do not care if people cannot use grammer etc. But I do care when people ruin the English language by using text talk out of pure laziness. It is symbolic of the sh*tty state of our education system that people CHOOSE to cummunicate in this fashion. I don't even necessarily blame the kids. But I do not like it, I will not waste my time trying to read it and I will certainly defend my right to speak out against it!
