true true... the majority of the goals he has let in haven't been his fault. A great improvement on last season. Has made some excellent saves.... darlington he was on fire!

That's wot annoys me a little... Bentley is on form.. then gets an unlucky red card then he cant get bk in the team... when we all know when both r on Bentley is better than Hunt...

Yes, it also annoys me that competition for places is such that a player of Bentleys quality isn't guaranteed a starting place because the people who covered whilst he was suspended played so well that they couldn't be left out, and then continued to play as well.

for a couple of games hunt has played well as cm... lately he hasnt been nearly as affective eg oxford game where i felt he didnt participate that much... Fair enough on his day he is good in midfield but i think he is far more consistant in defence where he prefers to play.

It's called competition for places.

Hunt played pretty well in Bentley's absence... we were playing well also... what sort of message would it have given Lewis Hunt if he had been immediately dropped?

Doing it this way keeps everyone on ntheir toes.

But I agree that Bentley is more effective than Hunt in the middle of the park.

It's got to be Barrett, the division's best goal-getting centre half, so far. Gray has made a rapid improvement since his early season displays but overall Barrett has been consistently good all season.

Its a good problem to have for a manager.... im intrigued to c wot the starting line up will be on friday with still so many options at hand

Which, bearing in mind this is only a discussion that has absolutely no bearing on anything whatsoever, makes it more interesting IMHO.

For the same reason that anyone asks "who is the best right back we have had?", or "what's the best starting XI?".

In my opinion, Bentley has been our best player so far and Tilson agrees with it (Well at least he did a couple of weeks back).

Honourable mentions must go to Barrett, Gray and Maher. From everyone else though, its a case of can do better.
