Maximum points we can get now is 72. We need 73 for 7th based on previous years. Game over im afraid. We had it in our hands but didn't take our chances. All well and good hoping other teams mess up but we have to do our bit.
Don’t know what tables you are looking at, but in 3 of the last 4 seasons, 68, 69 and 69 again would have been the points required for 7th place.
For what it’s worth I think 70 could see us scrape in, but 4 wins and 72 points should be enough.

realistically we have to win our next two games to even have a slimier of hope and do I think we will do that? I hope so but I very much doubt it. Braintree at home will be difficult and a similar game to today. Ebbsfleet have nothing to play for and are playing with freedom so are playing well, as shown by their result today.

I hope they surprise me and we do win both games and go into the last two with a chance but considering our form and our lack of consistency this Season i can’t see us getting 6 points out of them two games… maybe 3 if we are lucky

73 was always the total to guarantee a play off spot. Love the optimism of 4 wins!

You could also say Braintree will be a nightmare team to play against. For those that are saying we won't make the play offs as we are 4 points behind Halifax, Braintree are seven points clear of 4th bottom Dagenham, on 51 points, which should be enough for them to be safe. One more win would definitely see them safe, mathematically if Daggers fail to win on Friday. With three games after Friday for them to get that win, they could really go for it, which if we play with the same approach as today could give us real problems.

So the next two teams we play may play with a certain freedom and not necessarily any team pressure, although some players may feel they are in the shop window and give an extra percent or two in Ebbsfleet's place and others playing to be retained for another NL season in Braintree's case and definitely knowing that beating us would make them safe.

I would say we need to get on the front foot at every opportunity, as in a way we have nothing to lose, all to gain.

I just don't feel we have the ability overall within the squad to put a team to the sword. As some have said we take too long in putting moves together and end up having to break down a fully set defensive formation.

I just hope we give it a go and put in much, much more effort than that insipid performance today, on Friday, and take it from there.

Our focus now must be on Halifax, Altrincham and Tamworth. Forget Gateshead and Rochdale. Fortunately Halifax still have to play Altrincham and so do Tamworth so there is a chink of light but we will have to win all four of our remaining fixtures I think. Not very likely is it?

After yesterday I'm not at all sure that the Easter program will give us the necessary 6 points needed. I really hope I'm wrong, but they really didn't look up for it at all, and unless someone now goes on a scoring spree...........TF'd springs to mind.

Heres a thought, after the Easter fixtures Tamworth could be above us!
