How can you sign any petition without knowing the facts?

I guess for some there would also be the embarrassment of putting your name to something only to later wish you hadn't should you learn the facts. Once you sign something online you can'y un sign it. Some won't care- I would rather not be in that position.

Very fair comment. It is also possible that the only reason that the facts became known was becasue of the petition . But regardless I take your point

Signing a petition is ridiculous, and has only been started by mischievous Bolton fans in the first place. As many other people have said, you can't sign anything without knowing the facts. And as this is an employer/employee this year, it's a private matter and the facts are none of our business unless the employee wants them to be. We do not, under law, have a divine right to know what went on here and it is incredible that some people clearly think we do.
