How do know that this is the full facts of the situation? We don't. That statement could be as accurate as 'we'll be on site in Spring'.

1.Did he have access to an alternative means of addressing the frozen pitch problem that would have proven more effective or was what was used his only option?

2. What was said and by whom? Was there a row between parties and words said that could have constituted gross misconduct on his part?

Surely those two questions need to be answered before anyone can make an informed decision as to whether the club were in the right or wrong. Seems to me there's an awful lot of people jumping to conclusions here without knowing the full circumstances.

If someone does know the full details please post them up so I for one can decide whether the club/Ron need hanging from the nearest yard arm or whether the groundsman was lacking.

Ron Phil and Geoff were inspecting the pitch wearing just pants,Ken politely asked them to cover up as he had just had breakfast....next thing the 3 amigos began chasing Ken around the Hall whilst loud Benny Hill music played.

Some on here don't need any excuse at all for a bit of club bashing.

If he's done his job properly but still couldn't prevent the match being called off, then fair enough the sacking is harsh.

If he has been negligent and could have prevented it then maybe it isn't.
