Peter Clarke - top professional

Andyhsufc

Director
i didnt realise till yesterday what a great professional he is. Even when we were 5-0 down, he was still going in whole heartedly and working his socks off and his tears at the end showed how much it meant to him. If all our players showed as much passion as he does week in, week out next year, we will win the league

Agreed, he totally epitomised the passion we want to see from our players. Would they all played with his commitment, can't fault him last night whatever others might think.

Showed his passion for the club and dissapointment in loosing when seen crying as he clapped the fans. Excellent player and hope to hell we hang on to him next season.

Clarky was the only player who turned up last night.
never gives up, always gives his all
and to see him in tears at the end just shows what he thinks we mean to this club , i hope we can hang onto him

I watched it on the telly, and when it zoomed in to him and you could see him crying, it really got to me and showed how much it actually meant to him. His not just some glory seeking player, his got the club at heart.

i dont understand why people are blaming him for the loss last night. I thought he was one of our best players!

Last night driving home I asked a question whether the defence were awful or was it lack of protection from the midfield.

The more i think about it this morning I am swaying towards the latter. Last night, for once, Macca and Bailey were simply outtackled, outrun and outclassed.

Peter Clarke - for your show of heart last night - Thank you!

Clarke was in bits last night, obviously cares a lot as do most of the lads I for one not questioning commitment last night we just got smashed by a good team

Probably because he got caught out of position for the all important first goal, got in the keepers way for the second (not that Shorty would have gone for it), and failed to get a tackle in for the third and fourth goals. Apart from that he had a good game, oh and he clapped the fans at the end which is all what matters.

was so proud so see clarke's reaction last night. true professional who recnognised how much we love the club and want it to go forward. well done to him.

sarky ******* lol

:whistling:

Just hope to God we can keep him. If we can keep Clarkey, Bailey and Gower next season we'll have a real chance of automatic promotion. Gower is the main concern though as he's out-of-contract, we need to tie him down ASAP. I'm sure Bailey and Clarkey will be offered extensions, I just hope they're prepared to stay in League One.....

Whichever of Donny or Leeds fail in the final I'm sure they'll be favourites next season, probably with Leicester 2nd faves (although like Forest I think they may find League One tough to get out of initially). Personally I reckon we'll be next in line with the bookies, this league won't be as strong next year.

I think the big problem last night, as it was earlier on in the season, is the size of Donny's pitch.

It's a good few feet wider than ours, and our defence struggles to adapt to it. Countless times last night Mulgrew was too central in his positioning, but on our pitch it would be correct. The two Donny wingers know exactly what to do at home and it stretches the back 4 to breaking point. Lewis Hunt was torn a new one earlier on in the season, but this time the key point IMO was the lack of protection the 2 wingers gave the full backs...

Gower was at fault for the 2nd and 3rd goals, because he failed to pick up his man and he irritated the f*ck out of me last night with his nonchalant attitude when they scored.

Full marks to Clarke, who was the only one to escape with any credit last night, Barrett, Bailey and Revell for coming over and showing the fans the respect they deserved last night.

A legend is Peter.

I am slightly worried though that it's tears because its his last game with us, or just because he was caught in the moment..
