Breaking News Pepple recalled by Luton

Exactly what happened to us last season with Joe Taylor going back to Luton and then on to Lincoln where he also did well. We are in need of a striker, who knows he might end up playing for us! We have just lost a loanee from Notts Forest, he was also on a seasons loan but was recalled and sold to Dundee today, he was a very good young central defender.

Oh I feel better now.

Blimey that would really be rubbing salt into the wounds if that happened !

Maybe Col U, but surely he wants to play in front of a decent crowd at home games, instead ? :Winking:

Bit disrespectful lots saying "he wont cut it in league 2 or 1" - who knows!? Guess thats what Luton want to find out asap. They not going to find that out leaving him with us for another 5 months.

Fair play to them, its their prerogative and suspect Bim may surprise a few if he lands in the right place and hits the ground running.

Wish him all the best, but absolutely gutting for us.

Suspect we'll make a signing pretty quickly though 🤞

I can’t help but feel Luton aren’t acting in his best interests with the recall.. obviously they want him playing at a higher level which we all know he is capable of - but he’s feeling at home, booming with confidence, playing at a decent level getting experience infront of big crowds which specifically for him who has struggled to settle at a club, uprooting him and making him play to a different style half way through a season isn’t smart.

Real shame, seemed a class lad off the pitch too.

A massive loss, not only for his goalscoring and ever improving forward play, but for his personality around the club and training ground. He came into the club with this massive smile, and pure positive thinking. I'm told it was infectious, and certainly rubbed off on some of the other players. He brightened the place up when it needed it. He gave and took the banter with a smile. They also say he's very intelligent. He listened to everything that was told to him by the 3 amigos, even when he was scoring goals. He really wants to get better and was easy to train, as he knows he still has a lot to learn. But we can only thank him for the job he did, and wish him well in his future in the game. I'm sure if things don't work out, he will be most welcome back here.

If Bim ends up being loaned to a League One club then I'd say fair enough. If its to a League two club then I'd find that baffling as the difference in quality between the majority of teams in the NL compared to L2 is negligible.

He hasn't been recalled to be part of their matchday squad. I think the general feeling was that he'd stay. But perhaps those holding the purse strings feel it's worth the risk to loan him out to a higher level, in the hope that he does similarly well and they can get more £ for him eventually.
Or with his prior run, and if going to the wrong club, a Cardwell-like goal drought which would wipe out much of the value he has built up with us…

Luton won’t care…if it comes off or not from their viewpoint it makes little difference. So from their side worth the risk as you say. Maybe not from the players side but he will have had little say.

If the next loan doesn’t come off the chances of getting him in the summer would increase I guess…whilst there was little chance of getting him now (or probably in this scenario in the summer as for us I think he would have maintained his form).

The quality of the replacement will define our current ambition (for this season at least)
