Breaking News Pepple recalled by Luton

It's absolutely up to everyone to do what they want, but this is such a shame to read.

I understand that people want entertainment, but nobody can tell me that what's on offer now is less entertaining than the uncompetitive (nay, embarrassing) dross served up under Bond, Campbell and Molesley. It shouldn't matter that it was at a higher level, we come for Southend, not the opposition.

The club and team needs us. It's not like going to the cinema - if I'm not interested in a film then I won't go to see it, but then I don't have the strength of feeling for a particular actor, director or cinema chain that I do for SUFC.

As I said, each to their own. It's just a shame. Patience was kept reasonably well over the last year or two, so I'm finding it hard to fathom why it's suddenly evaporating as quickly as it is - it's barely been 6 months.
I actually thought sol Campbell did well to try and get a team of youth trying to compete in the EFL. The bloke is weird and a terrible fit for our club but tactically he was on it, just let down by the situation.

The difference with the cinema is that the cinema hasn't been paid up front.

If you brought a yearly pass for the odeon and then decided not to go, that would be your choice.

I just don't enjoy the football on offer to the point when several games I'd just wished I'd stayed in the pub or worked some overtime.

While I am not pretending that this is in any way good news what seems a 'crisis' is often an opportunity for others. When Bim arrived at Southend some of us hoped he might be successful but no one really predicted it. The stats fiends would have noticed that he came to us from Luton on his fourth loan spell. He had previously spent loan time with Grimsby, Sutton and Inverness Caldedonian for a total of thirty games scoring just one goal. Yes, one goal. Before coming to us his scoring output was right up there with Bonne and others. There was nothing in his previous record that remotely hinted he could score seven goals in nineteen appearances with us.
Must admit when we signed him, on looking at his past record i thought WTF?. Some signings work out others don't, so what's our current option?.
Bust the budget to try & tempt a proven goalscorer to join us, or with the amount of games allegedly being watched throughout the country, take a chance on a 'rookie' who will bear fruition within a season or two?.

plan B will be to sign a replacement striker which I’m sure we will do. But Bim only left at ****ing lunchtime so it’s no surprise we haven’t made a signing yet. You can’t really use Bim’s departure as another stick to beat Maher and COSU with. There’s no big catastrophe or surprise here- we had a kid on loan, an unknown who WE scouted as having potential, he did well and scored some goals and now his parent club, realising his stock is not going to get higher before his I contract expires, wants flog him. Disappointing but we move on
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.... it's quite simple. We have all known he could have been recalled at any time, although some didn't think that was possible.
We should have planned for his departure a long time ago, yet he was first on the team sheet, we should have been giving more time to our own players(DW) , getting a second loanee in just is case.
Businesses have back ups, but look at our current forward line, it just sums up our terrible season so far, not good enough.

Whilst Bonne got a hatful for Orient at this level probably the more impressive seasons were 11 in 26+7 in the Championship with Charlton and 12 in 29+14 with Ipswich in L1

Typically when he does get a goal or two he can go on runs of scoring regularly. Obviously we will all hope that happens.
21 games and counting - never seen a striker look less like scoring in any season in 30 + years

No he couldn’t.

There was a one week window for Luton to recall him. As of Monday, all parties agreed for him to stay for the season and then discuss come the summer.

So do you know if we have anyone lined up this month? We were told by quite few posters (some in the know) to be patient and wait for Jan.

It would be incredibly disappointing if nothing came info fruition.
There are players we would like to sign. But nobody is 'lined up'. When we signed Waldron, I knew that was definitely happening days ahead of time, because it was 'lined up'. I do think there will be signings in January, but don't expect them to be world beaters.

And there I thought we would be in for Rashford now suppose I will have to lower my expectations.
