Paul McVeigh

Ok so my Michael Bridges thread was answered with NO's, stating that he may not be prepared to drop down a division especially to a team in the south- as he has been based in the north throughout his career.
Therefore i thought maybe Paul McVeigh would be ideal. He is currently on trial at Championship Plymouth for two games so maybe they will snap him up, but if they don't should we maybe give him a try? He is fairly local aswell having previously played for Norwich.

I thought he had joined Bouremouth.

I wouldnt say he would be a good signing, he was touted as a great prospect and since then he's done nothing.

Well if he had done something we wouldnt be able to sign him anyway.

Thats the kind of player we need to look at, someone who has the ability to be a decent player who hasnt quite got there.

What about that young striker at spurs that we was linked with last season or was it a rumour, he's pretty good. Can't think of his name???

If we've got 400k to spend (what we apparently offered for R O'D) then i reckon we should go after Jermaine Easter. 200k should do it with some add ons?

Lee Barnard? I'd rather went for Terry Dixon from Spurs, Who a mate of mine says is something special in the making.

Good shout there.
He got 17 goals in 30 games last season & he's just 24.
T & B should try to get him IMO, when we are prepared to splash out £400k on the likes of O'Donovan I think we'd get Easter for less than that no probs.

IMO easter is overrated and I'm not convinced he is League 1 class.. I'm willing to eat my words, but I think he was a one-season wonder

You could be right. But I think it was last season when Wycombe played Chelsea in the cup I thought he looked okay. He has pace and power which we desperately need upfront. My main concern with him is his attitude. He comes across (from what I've heard) as a Leon Knight type of character. If that is true, then I would rather we didn't risk him.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, Kevin Campbell, might be able to do what Goater did & is available for free.

He still looked lively & fit from what I saw of him on the Alan Ball game at the weekend. He even scored a well taken goal too!

Worth a gamble??

i think he is probably a bit too old now. whilst a goater-esque player would be good, i would prefer a youngster with serious pace

Campbell is 37 now, but reckon he could manage a season in League 1 to help us win promotion. Just need a goal scorer alongside him cos Foran & Harrold or McDonald won't get 20 goals as long as I've got a hole in my ****.

I would too, but players like that are hard to find & I think we need a bit of experience up front.

The Bendtners of this world aren't going to drop to Div 1, but I think we will have to unearth an Eastwood-like gem to get what we want.

I'm sure a Billy & Maccy D will bang in the goals we need!!

You say that but I remember a young Jermaine Defore at 16/17 joining Bornemouth on loan to go onto score something near 20 goals if I am correct.
