Patience is a virtue.............

No... but I was imaging in my head what could happen on Saturday against Charlton. They go 2-0 up, we fight back to 2-2, then they take the lead again the last few minutes. It would be incredibly frustrating, but I would have said it would have been a great score and probably very entertaining to watch!
That sounded perilously similar to the Oct 89 Southend v Spurs League Cup game. Won on the night, lost on aggregate.

Absolutely correct, but it was still a terrific night, back in the days of all standing in the West Stand, with a few beers in the Golden Lion before and after the match.
I stood in the North Bank that night ( reminiscing the 'old days'! ), & when we went 2-0 up in the 1st half, the chant of 'Southend, Southend' came from the West Stand & was so loud it was like everyone in there was chanting it.
That was the first time (in my memory!) that i heard those in the 'West' chant as one, awesome!.

I remember watching the Wolves League Cup game in the 70s when First Division Wolves won 1-0 with a goal near the end and the game at Mansfield in the FA Cup losing 2-1. And the time in the 70s when they blew a great chance of promotion from Div 4. All nice memories even though the results weren't good
