Parkinson on his way?

Elvisisashrimper

Youth Team
From Skysports

Parkinson is upset that the Layer Road outfit have prevented him from talking to Charlton about replacing Alan Curbishley at The Valley.

While he admits he is not desperate to leave Col******r, he feels he should be afforded the opportunity to speak to a Premiership club.

Dont know how to do the link

If he goes it will upset the players and fans, hopefully cause disruption and see them go straight back down next season.

Sounds to me like he wants out, and who can blame him? Can't imagine he's lying awake in bed at night thinking "The Valley or Layer Road, The Valley or Layer Road..."

Tricky one though. Charlton is a poisoned chalice. I wouldn't want to be a lower league manager walking into a dressing room full of international players all quite content with mid-table mediocrity.

Parkinson could end up as the next Paul Sturrock if he's not careful.

Still, his departure would put Col Ewe into freefall and that at least puts one team underneath us next season. Now we need two more!

Parky don't have Col U running through his bloods, he use Col U as an stepping stone to manage an Premiership side.

Stoke City and QPR are both in turmoil and unless they get their finances sorted will likely be struggling next season. Also Luton, who have had planning permission for their new ground declined, look to be consolidating at best. If Barnsley beat Swansea at the weekend, I cannot see them doing anything either.

They might as well give us the title already!

Championship title at 250/1 anyone?

I see Dowies left Crystal Palace, unless I misread that wrong over someones shoulder this morning.....another little tempter for Parky...and another side in dissarray next year...6 easy points.

Maybe Palace could be a tempter for Peter Taylor where Charlton were not?

Whatever, I can see P.I.G. walking out on Col Ewe pretty soon.

Palace is the sort of club that would attract Tilly IMO. However working for Simon Jordan must be a nightmare, certainly in comparison to Ron.

only one bloke runs the show at Palace and thats Jordan, everyone else are yes men - Tilly can get linked to Real Madrid for all I care but he is staying to see this job through and take Southend as far as he can and he isn't finished yet

Heard jordan speaking in his press conference when dowie quit, and he expects his next manager to get promotion as fast as possible. Would be a bad move for any manager who has not got experience I think. Dowie looks like hel goto chalrton.

Tilson wouldnt go anywhere!

Totally disagree. They're in the same division as us, and with the impending departure of Andy Johnson there is no guarantee they have much to offer this season.

He would hardly give it a second thought.

I would be p****d off if we lose our manager at vital stage of next season, we would be **** up without Tilson as Southend Utd team is not even solid enough to surive without Tilson. Tilson can go to any Premiership side in the future, long as he left Southend in midtable & safe from relegation.

If Jordan moan about manager not getting him promoted, why not he can be the manager of Cripple Alice FC?

Fully agree, he won't be finished until he at least (over a few seasons) establishes us as a Championship club AND leads Southend United into their new stadium at Fossets Farm.

Essex side achieves its highest ever position.
Manager of said Essex side denied permission to speak to big club.
Same Manager of Essex side publicly complains about the chairman's actions.
Essex side on the verge of great things falls into 10 years of disarray.
Former managerial favourite becomes public enemy number one.

It's GREAT when it happens to someone else though isn't it!?
