Eastwood was crap britt was easily better i sholdnt need to explain why it shold be obvious for those with a brain !! Moshni had a poor game poorer than his early bath display of 27mins an what is up with sean an kevan have they forgotten how to link an play... very gutted tonight

in the minority here im afraid eastwood wasnt perfect but alot lot better than britt

Cant see how u lot are so in love with a almost past it lazy fat fred just dont get it britt is easily better every game... gav an baz both offered more than fred tonight cant see how more of us cant see thi. fred is different to several years ago(not as good/lazy sorry)

Freddie was MOM. Held the ball up well. Good intelligent passes and always a threat. He is carrying more weight now and that makes him harder to knock off the ball, and tougher in the tackle. Looks to be getting back to his best and this is the only positive to take out of the game tonight. Fred is a credit to the team, the most watchable player on the pitch, and where the future of the club lies. Get a manager in for next year who will build an attacking line up around him, then we will get promotion.

Absolutely fuming with yet another gutless, pathetic, spineless performance from that shower who have the front to call themselves professional footballers

What the hell is M'cTaggat playing at by taking off Eastwood?

Britt A was absolute ***** all night and has been for a long while

The team has no style.no guts.no bottle,..................

A Bloody good hiding coming up at Wembley

SEASON OVER THANKS STURROCK

Who should replace him then? Shall we see if Steve Wignall is available? You are seriously deluded if you think we will be able to attract anyone that's seriously any better than Sturrock.

Though Tam was MOM personally but Freddy I agree the pick of the offensive players.

And you are deluded if you think Sturrock is as good as it gets. 8th place, no wins at home in seven, crap football and no tactics. Tell me what you think is going to be so hard to replace.

Tell me if you would be motivated if you worked all month and didn't know if you were getting paid? Would you be able to concentrate on the job if the company you worked for was in and out of court being faced with winding up orders? Add to that a whole host of injuries, suspensions, embargos, no depth in the squad and over reliance on loan signings. It honestly baffles me that everyone is calling for his head given what he's had to put up with. Ron Martin is the issue, not Sturrock.

I agree with this 100%, easy to sack the manager, Ron has led this club up the wrong path for years now with his plans!

Tell me if there were only 92 jobs in the field that you worked in and there were 400 odd professionals falling out your industry each season and you had a fairly average record can you really moan.

Sturrock did an amazing job in season one. We totally collapsed last season and poor tactical decisions in the play offs cost is IMHO but we should never have been in the play offs given the points we had on the board about this time if the season.

This year we have won SIX home games all season, we are not going up and in reality we haven't been since mid Feb, we can't beat the bottom sides, there is zero entertainment at Roots Hall, we have a talented squad that the manager cannot gel together - what the hell are you so scared to loose?

Every club gets injurys. Sturrock has been given a good go in the transfer loan Market. What side at this level has money to spend? Sturrock I will always be grateful for in season one but sorry for me his time here is done. Crowds are poor, morale is low and we are going nowhere.

My problem with loan signings is that the level of commitment just isn't there. If we don't get promoted, Reeves goes back to Southampton, Lund goes back to Stoke, Mkandawire goes back to Milwall and Britt goes back to Watford. Not saying they don't give a damn, but relying on loan signings isn't the answer.

Injuries aren't necessarily the problem, but when there is no depth in the squad and Barry Corr fills in at centre back, we're in trouble. Ron Martin is responsible for the funds not being available. I know every club in league 2 doesn't have a pot of gold, but how many other clubs in this division have had 5 winding up orders in 4 years?

Consistency and continuity wins games. We have had none of it this season and from what I can see it has largely not been down to Sturrock. If we gave him £5mil at the start of the season, told him to build his squad and then found ourselves in this position, it might be a different story.

I'm just as disappointed as everyone else this season, but I genuinely do not believe Sturrock has deserved anything close to the criticism he's received on here. When you look at the bigger picture, we've punched above our weight for the last 3 seasons.

Sorry have to disagree with you there. Sturrock has been able to sign the players he wants with Rons backing.

The point for me is that most clubs at L2 have a modiste squad and supplement this with loanees. Sure Plymouth had a few tonight I am sure Rochdale will have on Saturday. Ron for all his faults has given PS cash to get loans in. If they have not been committed or good enough then that is down to PS.

If you look at the squad now I would say Smith, Clohessey, Cresswell, Phillips, Moshni, Hurst, Laird, Tomlin, Freddy, Timlin and Corr are all more than capable of being part of a promotion side. That leads me to ask why were so **** and all roads for me lead back to managers tactics and motivation.

I do agree. But again, the bigger picture with Ron's off-field antics cannot make Southend a great club to be at from the players point of view. When we had those players available, we went on our unbeaten run earlier in the season and were sitting in automatic promotion.

Injuries to Phillips, Barker, Laird, Tomlin, Timlin, Corr and not to mention Mohsni not being here for half the season have meant that our continuity has been ruined. If they hadn't have been injured who knows where would be in the league following on from that unbeaten run, 1st, 2nd, 3rd? I'm guessing no one would even entertain the idea of Sturrock leaving.

Unless he puts the players through an Iron Man challenge in training every day, he isn't responsible for the injuries that from what I can see have absolutely crippled us this season.

Phillips, Corr and Tomlin all have a track record of injury. If you sign players with a track record of injuries then you can't be surprised when they are injured.

I wonder how many L2 clubs are not battling with financial issues or small squads.

Let's just hope Wembley gives us a platform for success next season.

Who scored last?

I just wondered how many minutes fred has spent actually on the field of play this season compared to britt, we really shouldnt be relying on loanees so much ,epecially when we have so many so called strikers in the squad.Be nice to see what that young man just up from the academy who was on the subs bench tonite has to offer, why not give him 30 minutes or so on the field can only help him.Nothing to lose now.

If you think Britt was better than Freddy last night then you should go see your doctor, laughable at best.
