THE SEVENTIES NORTH BANK

Life President⭐⭐🦐
Pace Pace Pace.

Been saying it for ages along with many others, we needed pace up front. Boy, what a difference. A truly brilliant debut as well. Loza reminds me of a cross between Assombalonga and Richard Cadette. He was so quick he never gave the defenders a moments rest. He closed them down so fast it was just a matter of time before they made bad mistakes. The other thing is just like a lot of quick strikers, he was looking to go forward all the time and burst past the defenders. It was so positive and a joy to watch.
When we have Corr, Barney or/and Eastwood up front, they just tap it back or sideways, as they haven't got the pace to go forward. It's just so boring and easily read and cut out by defenders.
Pace up front is the only way forward to get out of this League. Imagine having two up front like that.

You don't need two, Barney worked very well alongside him last night, and I think Freddy would too

Loza IMO possibly saved Phil's job and kept our season alive!

His performance transformed our midfield who have looked like they were knackered yet yesterday they were all truly superb as they all knew IMO they had the out ball which Loza will chase and put the defenders under pressure which he did,Oxford were conceding corners and throws which pushed us higher up the pitch.

Don Goodman said the pace up top was too hot for Oxford to handle and that is basically what league 2 is all about.

If Phil returns to 451 he should be removed ASAP.

Wonderful to watch them last night be it on telly but it was damn good.Well done men now carry it on.

According to brown we played 4.3.3 not 4.5.1 and last night was 4.3.3 as well ( browns words not mine)

More importantly Loza showed he isnt just quick, but good.

Its one thing being quick but you have to have some quality to go with it, and he showed throughout the game he was confident on the ball and to take his goal despite stuggling to get the ball out of his feet to start with was incredible.

The whole team looked rejuvenated last night, not too much passing backwards either. Lets hope we can keep this up for the remaining games. Loza did have a good game and it was a credit to him that he kept going and stayed on his feet and got his goal

Brown also said being on the telly stirred them up. All the same superb performance, could have been 6 as their keeper nearly MOM . Would like to see Bazzer upfront with Loza, although Barny looked much fitter and also performed well, scoring the penalty will get his confidence up further. Three more points on Saturday if performance can be repeated. Egan was immense for us, tough on Prosser?

Prosser will have to wait. 1 win, 2 draws, 3 clean sheets - you can't change the defence after that.

You can add the 2-2 away at Scunthorpe to that too. We may have let in a couple, but actually we're unbeaten in 4, and have only let in 2 goals.

Sokolik didn't play in that match but I get what you're saying. We've had a stable back 4 for 3 games (5 points, no goals) and so we would be mad to change it.

How did I know you would say that. In all honesty, I think the best player to play alongside Loza is Corr. With Loza playing off Corr's flicks, Loza wil get even more chances than he had last night

watched the game here in germany(sky gb),it was really good. from 1 to 11, all played the part..but also enjoyed hearing southend fans singing, making an atmosphere(the west side)..have read here on the s.z,about people moaning about them, but as an old north banker, pak, i thought it was good.at least they are trying, maybe we can get the north bank back, stick the away fans in the lower south, and we might get more fans singing..well done the west siders:clap:

In a peverse way you could say that Barry Corr did that when he moved his head towards that Bury player. His absence finally forced Phil's (Ron's????) hand into bringing somone in. Perhaps BBBC did one for the team? :winking:

I said at the time his sending off could be a blessing in disguise in the same way Dickinson getting injured was a couple of seasons back (not for him of course).

Being forced to change has certainly helped.

I dont think Ron needed forcing, he has backed Phil plenty this year, we have a pretty decent sized squad now.

The Dickinson blessing was certainly very well disguised as we drew one and lost three of our next four matches.
