over 6,000 average attendance

Quote[/b] (McScriven @ April 19 2005,10:57)]If we get a 6,000 average we get another flat screen TV yes. However, from our calculations I think it's impossible to get over 6K.
I did the league calculations on a spreadsheet yesterday and we will make over 6000 if we get 11,500. If we throw in the cup games, FA cup & LDV then we get over 6000 if we get 12,300 against Yeovil.

1 5,332 5,332 5,332 league
2 3,941 9,273 4,637 league
3 3,753 13,026 4,342 league
4 4,771 17,797 4,449 league
5 4,087 21,884 4,377 league
6 5,688 27,572 4,595 league
7 4,940 32,512 4,645 league
8 5,696 38,208 4,776 league
9 5,608 43,816 4,868 league
10 5,192 49,008 4,901 league
11 4,837 53,845 4,895 league
12 7,082 60,927 5,077 league
13 5,930 66,857 5,143 league
14 5,304 72,161 5,154 league
15 7,358 79,519 5,301 league
16 8,224 87,743 5,484 league
17 4,219 91,962 5,410 league
18 5,553 97,515 5,418 league
19 5,824 103,339 5,439 league
20 7,656 110,995 5,550 league
21 7,858 118,853 5,660 league
22 9,189 128,042 5,820 league
23 12,300 140,342 6,102 league
24 2,599 142,941 5,956 LDV
25 6,683 149,624 5,985 FAC
26 4,270 153,894 5,919 LDV
27 8,145 162,039 6,001 LDV

We really lacked attendance at some of the LDV games, and early on in the season. An average crowd of 6,000 would certainly show that Southend is now a well supported club, even if it wasn't a couple of seasons ago, with only big games drawing large games (i.e. FA Cup ties, and Frendlies against Premier$hite opposition).

Quote[/b] (sufcintheprem @ April 19 2005,10:55)]As I replied on the other thread in a bit more detail, I think it's actually 9958 that we need!  I really should be working...
My 9,947 calculation is 6,000 rounded up.
In true Carol Vordeman stylee

6000 x 23 = 138,000
Total League Attendance so far from 22 games = 128,042

Therefore difference of 9,958 (you're right with your figure), but the accountant in me decided to test this figure as to how low it can go & 9,947 works out at 5,999.52 therefore rounded up is 6,000!

Here, endeth the lesson
Ahh, but on the basis that we can't have fractions of people the number of people we need through the gate in total is:-

6001 * 23 = 138023

Given that we have had 128042 so far, then we need

138023 - 128042 = 9981

against Yeovil to average over 6000.

I remeber last season that Ron Martin said if we get an average of 6'000 at home game, its would break even in term of debts etc - I could be wrong, anyone know about that

If we get promotion, with the like of Forest, Col Ewes & Sheffield Weds, the average would move up to 7'000 if we have an good season in League One.

I think this thread confirms that there are some seriously bored people on this board.

I can almost see the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's from my vantage point here in N15.

...seriously though some interesting stats and what an achievement it would be to break the 6,000 season average.

And I remember them saying that 5,000 average each season would be enough only a couple of seasons ago.

If you do the sums then this year if we have made a loss then something has gone seriously wrong.

I'm looking forward to last years accounts come out as I think the following year is going to look even prettier! If a company which is £8million in debt just starts to see the daylight by getting itself in the black each year then it stands itself in good position for the future!

5,500 was the figure but as Einstein says, when the accounts from last season do get released, it surely must reveal we actually made money ... !?

sorry i only got a degree in applied mathematics and I'm having trouble with all this so what is our average for this season, and how does it compare for example to our average in both the pre-war and post war years.

Anyway everyone knows our figures are vastly inflated as its clear the average for this season has been closer to 3500.

PS anybody here at the rochdale game 1984-85 season when we only had 1800 marvellous times.

Southend High for me. Troy - always pretty useless when I was there, but apparently in line for top spot this year, according to the lad at the Kids Klub I run, who was quite chuffed when he heard I used to go his school and was in his house too.

In line for top spot .... now, that's fairly topical.

We are top of the league, repeat at will...........
