Bentley won't leave in January as we are under no pressure to sell (he's on a 3 year contract) and selling your in form first choice keeper in January is suicide for a promotion chasing side.

Hurst won't leave in January as he's got 6 months remaining on his contract meaning anything that anyone offers us will be nominal and therefore not worth accepting. Better off losing him on a free at the end of the season (if he doesn't sign a new deal) and pushing for promotion.

Leonard is the only one who may be at risk, but again we're under no pressure to sell. He's got an option on his contract for next year and given the FA cup run I doubt we desperately need to accept the £125k that a league one side will offer.

Let's rewind a bit.
We can't afford to lose Mohsni, Hall, Cresswell, Britt, Tomlin - the world will end if we do. We'll be left with Prosser, Straker, Leonard, etc. Don't fancy that, eh!

The Brown situation is far more significant - I'm sure he'll be off when he gets offered a decent job at a higher level, which he will if we carry on. Here's hoping that the real gem is Dave Penney and that he stays on.

players to possibly go

bentley 500k
leonard 150k
Hurst 150k

Bottom line are we in a position to turn down any of that dosh.........No we are not.

150k per player wouldnt touch the sides and as it wouldnt solve our financial problems there is no point in selling.

Its like being £1000 overdrawn and selling and someone offering you a tenner for your favourite DVD.

He has a terrible record as a manager, why would he be considered?

I dont think PB will be attracting too many clubs just yet, to get a big club will require achieving something more than he has so far.

Why would we want Dave Penney as a manager?

Brown might be off when he gets a decent job offer, but his reputation was so ruined that he couldn't get a managers job in the Irish leagues. He will need time to rebuild that reputation.

We also never lost those you mentioned during the season, which is when the real harm is done.

Will Hurst go? Look at his stats on soccerbase - he has not started more than 44 games from any previous club in one stint there, we have given him over 60 games.

As for goals, he has scored 14 for us, yet not managed more then 3 in a spell at any previous club.

Seems to me he is settled here and certainly playing the best football of his career. If we go up this season and can offer a rise, I think he would sign.

I didnt suggest selling would solve everything but a few hundred k would be of some benefit surely

Pretty much the same as Gavin Tomlin.

Personally I don't think we will loose any of them in January for the reasons others have given,, unless there is a bidding war for Bentley and the fee is massive.

With promotion I would not be surprised is no one left. Lastly Brown has surprised and impressed me. I don't want to get ahead of myself but I can see Brown leading us on an assault on the championship next year. You have to dream or what's the point:smile:

None of the three will leave during the transfer window ,and if we do gain promotion ,the only one i could see leaving would be Bentley, but would he if we played higher division. As for PB he will stay, and seriously if he does and we play in div1 , i can see SUFC being a contender there also.We have the best back room in League 2 in Brown,Penney and Coughlan.,a happy squad that play for each other, most other clubs must envious us.Long may it continue.
