Other teams shirts at our games!

just bad manners. What can you expect from a West Ham fan. Does he not have any ordinary shirts in his wardrobe? Of course. Hhe's wearing it ti make a statement. He thinks he's saying I don't really give a stuff about SUFC and am here only because my beloved Irons are not playing. We all know the statement he's actually making is just "I'm a complete tosser".

I remember on boxing day when we had Col Ewe at home. Behind me in the west stand was a bloke with a hull jacket on!!! =S
Southend are my 1st team, always will be. I would never wear any other team shirt unless it's the one I support who is playing.
Just find it a bit annoying, I saw some pictures of when we were at Col U away earlier this season and there was this mug with an arsenal top on. Prick. (Was sitting in the Col U stand so it wasn't our fans)

Maybe, just maybe, he can't find any other top to fit his 62" chest than his XXXXXXL Wet Spam shirt so has to wear it through necessity rather than choice?

Quite literally, food for thought...

When other teams supporters come to roots hall with there premier league atire i just laugh at them. What they are trying to do is fly the teams colours at root hall , but what they are saying to me is:

1) I cant afford to support my own team anymore

2) I now support the blues but cant let go of the past

3) And this one is most important. I am in need of guidance and help and possible a savage beating to help with the gravity of the situation.

4) Here is an idea , why not go and take your scummy premier garms to your scummy premier club and support the team who's shirts your wearing. We all know the only reason you do it is because paying your £20 per month sky subscription and shouting at the 42 inch plasma whilst waving your remote clenched in your chubby didgets like a magic wand isnt cutting it for you.

5) We have a club shop and a large amount of merchandise if you could be arsed to take your head out of your arsehole for long enough to take a look.

Love it. Reminds me of Dave X's cartoon in WTSSG. The odour eater all in one suit for West Ham fans. Comes in sizes XL,XXL,XXXL and Upton Park regular.

Great to see that people on here are having a go at the arrogant t---ers that go to Roots Hall in hammers gear. One of the worst things about living in Southend is seeing claret and blue around town, makes them seem like the local club sometimes. I wonder if they would have the nerve to wear their shirts inside the New Den? They delight in taking the p out of Essex based so-called Man U fans, but does anyone know of a Hammers fan that actually lives in the Newham/West Ham area?
The more Shrimpers that have a dig at Sullivan, Gold and his cockney mob the better. Sullivan was quoted on radio the other day that they, West Ham are "the club of Essex", cheeky b-----d!

Just doing some research into my paternal grandparents. My nan was born in Poplar (Middlesex in those days - Tower Hamlets now) but lived at 80 Balaam Street Plaistow (in the County Borough of West Ham and unfortunately in Essex - now London Borough Of Newham) as a child up till her marriage to my grandfather.
As soon as they moved to Chalkwell in the 1920s what did she do? Started watching the mighty Shrimpers (Blues in those days). None of this old cobblers about East End roots. Support where you live, not where you ran from.

PS Balaam Street was uncomfortably near Upton Park.

Spot on. Must admit I have said myself a few times to people wearing other club's stuff something like 'can't you afford any SUFC gear', or 'southend shirt/coat/hat etc in the wash is it?', but sadly unless we or the club take more of a stand then people will continue to take the ****.

Personally I think we should have loads of we hate West Ham, Arsenal, Spurs or whatever, chants, make those wearing such items feel uncomfortable so they soon decide not to wear them anymore and instead buy the same item from our shop. Better still would be for the club to not allow other teams stuff on view inside the ground for safety reasons, but then spose Uncle Ron doesn't want to turn away their money

Coming from a West Ham supporting family, their perception of things is that we are a smaller local team the majority of their fans want to see do well and a few come to see us. The cost of taking your kids to a west ham game is high and in my case my dad and my uncle used to take me to roots hall and thats why i'm a shrimper, not a hammer. I also had a load of west ham fans sitting near me in our first LDV final against Blackpool who were vocal and positive throughout the match. I see no harm in them coming to watch us, its not like we are selling out and they are stopping real Southend fans getting in. If/When we are trying to fill a 22k stadium then these fans of larger clubs who can't get to see their teams, Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham could be the key to us not rattling around a big empty stadium. We could also convert a few of the youngsters into Shrimpers, like myself all those yrs ago.

Nobody's saying don't come, just don't turn up wearing your team's colours. It just reeks of "doing you lot a favour being here, respect my superior team/shirt".

It'd be like turning up at a Primark convention wearing head to toe Barbour, you're going to just look a tool.

There are many southend fans who were west ham spurs arsenal etc etc back in the day , but are now shrimpers. They still look out for the old teams result and watch them on the box. Thats fine by me , your all welcome.

But why the fick turn up in a jacket of another club . It just makes you look less of a supporter both of southend and also the club whos top your wearing.

My cousins are all arsenal and have seasos there. I have been a few times over the years , but would i go in my southend shirt ? Course i wouldnt because id look a right ****. I also dont go in a arsenal shirt as im there as a neuteral.

Its all about being respectful

I would support a ban on other teams colours in the home end
