I think he is good enough personally. He has improved dramatically as a footballer since he arrived here in my opinion. I think, much like i said about the club earlier this season, he needs a stroke of luck and it'll change for him. He'll struggle to get into double figures as he's not a striker that feeds on through balls, has pace and gets in around the penalty area. I think one piece of luck or skill leading to a goal will improve his confidence no end and we may see a Harrold getting higher up the pitch and running onto crosses etc.

One reason i will never criticize Harrold is i feel every time he plays he gives absolutely everything for my club. He chases everything, i've never seen him give up. Earlier this season (millwall i think) he gave everything, chased onto to everything and sprintd to the last and was so disappointed not to score. I'd rather have a player like that giving everything than many other strikers out there who may or may not do a better job. He may not be brilliant but he has my confidence.

just wanted to add i agree that harrold gives it his all. no one can deny him that.

When he plays he is asked to make a nuisence of himself, to put himself around, to win free kicks, to push the opponents defensive line back and to create space for his strike partner and his midfield runners to play in.

Interesting to note that there have been less goals from the midfield since Harrold's been out of the team.

Id be interested to see some stats around this - if anyone has the time to do something like that when they are supposed to be working...

We don't need stats,we already know the answer.

Like at work when i don't need to add up the invoices - i just know i've had a good week;)

great young player with more to develop -

some people just love to fill their lives up with moaning and groaning -

He's hardly a young kid at 23, surely he should know how to score a goal and win a header by that grand old age? maybe im wrong.

As anyone who plays Football Manager knows all good forwards peak between the ages of 27 and 32. Cant wait.

I admire Harrold's attitude and determination, and i believe he has improved drastically since he first signed. However, Unfortunately i don't think he brings enough to the side at the moment.

Shows how far we have come IMO, if Matty was playing for us 5 or 6 seasons ago he would have been the best player in our side.

Nope would still have been Maher, sorry feeling a bit naughty as its been a tough day train driving .

Jeez calm down. I just wanted to put a poll up to see a simple yes or no answer of what people actually think. As I mentioned on my post, it wasnt a hate campaign or anything like that, I am not being nasty or rude. I am entitled to my opinion on him. I think that he is pants where as other people think that he brings something good to the team. Well fair enough, I wont slate people for having their opinions.

All I am saying is that he is a striker and he hasnt scored a league goal for a year, that stat doesnt need back up.

But he hasn't played for six weeks, so it's hard to draw any real conclusions from this thread other than that you're making yet another personal attack on one of our players.

The only times ive seen him play well is when he comes on for the last 10 mins or so. At Northampton i thought he was really good. But i cant honestly say ive ever seen him play well when he has started a game. So, as a squad player, is he good enough? Maybe. As someone who is pushing to start every match, i have to say no.

i know theres more to a striker, but strikers are judged on their goals.

Spot on there - I accept that he brings other things to the team but as someone said earlier, they are the kind of attributes that you would expect from a midfielder. Lets face it, a striker that barely contributes goals is not all that handy. Again as someone else said if he wasnt so tall I doubt he would be given that role - Peter Crouch wannabe me thinks.

i actually completely forgot he came on at northampton, right at the end he did actually do a pretty good run and then a pretty decent shot. you do tend to forget the good things matty does.

actually think matty is better looking than crouch, we'll give him that. how they both have fit birds is beyond me????
