Unchanged side then Paul? :winking:SOUTHEND United manager Paul Sturrock has promised to shake up his side for tonight’s FA Cup second round replay at Oldham Athletic.

I would echo those sentiments...........very brave and courageous people and I'm not thinking of just the trip and the weather. No matter how hard I look I can't see us getting to Anfield. It will be very interesting to see what a side will be put out tonight, bearing in mind that there is a very important (getting back into the winning mood) league game only three days away. A Friday night match that, with hindsight, would have been played on Saturday afternoon, in order to gain a little more rest for the playersAs I said on the other thread, safe travelling to all those making the journey, can't imagine it will be much fun on the roads - and sleet forecast in that area later so wrap up warm!
Are we going to be spanked?Put these words in order...
Are Spanked We Going Be To.
Are we going to be spanked?
Does anyone know whether the squad travelled up yesterday or are travelling today? Flying to Manchester may have been an option rather than a long coach trip.
Would love to get a win but I can't help but think that getting through to play at anfield would really affect our league performances. I suppose this will make losing a little be easier to take considering anfield would be my number 1 place for us to play at but I would much rather promotion.
I hope we've not opted to fly the squad up there - they may end up having to make other arrangements to get home.
Disappointed AGAIN to not see Sawyer mentioned in amongst the names of players in with a shout for tonight. Sawyer and Grant in the middle could unsettle Oldham I think. It also depends on which players Sturrock thinks most "need a rest". From what I've read on here, I would imagine that Clohessy, Kalalalala and Kane would be high up that list.
Why should he have something against him? Maybe he just doesn't rate him. Conspiracy theories abound!!!Was also dissapointed to not see sawyer mentioned aswell. Think he could do a real job in midfield, but obviously sturrock has something agaisnt him and doesnt want to play him.
I know you what you mean, its been my dream to see us play Liverpool but cant help thinking it would be a huge distraction. On then other hand IF we did get through it could be an incentive for some players to up their game. Also I hope it doesn't go to ET tonight because we have a game on Friday!
