IIRC we were 7th for a spell last season, never seem to get inside the PO's, before it went pear shaped. Hopefully we'll head upwards instead this year...

We weren't playing well last season though and felt our league position then was flattering, whereas this season were playing at lot better

Another bad decision from the referee in the final seconds that could have perhaps been negative for us in the long run.

Anyway, another 3 points in the bag, onwards and upwards.

Brown Out? oh its all gone quiet!!!
Well done to the lads. Another fantastic effort.
Surely EVERYONE must be behind PB and the chaps now? Orange? Northern? Who cares? A GREAT Southend United manager...to date!

Fingers crossed Cox and Ranger's injuries aren't too serious. We are on a roll and need them especially with 3 games in a week coming up.

I agree Kevin, Brown is a great Southend manager one of the best in our history, sadly there are some fans who want him out no matter what.

Still can't believe we are 7th going into Xmas. It is a footballing miracle and a lot of the credit has to go to Phil Brown.

Followed the game in a bar with a Chester supporter. He was as anxious for news of their game against The Shots. We reminisced about their 4-0 win Jan 77 at Roots Hall in the Cup. He remembered our legendary drunken escapades in Chester in the 80's as they celebrated promotion.
Wonderful memories and two happy supporters - 2-0 win all round.
